Because, even at that price, the trains are still standing-room only on peak. From a quick calculation my £4000 season ticket works out about £0.25/mile.

We had one MBP Retina 15" that had that issue in the office, Apple replaced the screen instantly when we took it to an Apple store.

Funny - the Apple Wireless keyboard is my favourite keyboard. I love the feel of the keypress.

The last benchmarks[1] I saw for Swift showed it's generally pretty slow without optimisations on, but various differences in the language from Objective C mean the compiler can optimise it much more, so generally it's faster than

I love reading articles like this: "So, for example, a cache miss on Jesper's 3GHz processor takes about 32ns to resolve. It thus only takes two misses to wipe out the entire time budget for processing a packet." Then I go

The fact that it ends with the boy kneeling, sobbing over the melted remains of his magical snowman friend explains a lot about why Britons are so cynical I think.

I'd say most of that usage is unnecessary clutter. Hyphens are intended to disambiguate grouping of word pairs. I haven't heard of anything called a "dog hind" that could have a leg. "The woman's white hair was

Anandtech&Wikipedia suggest the Nexus's Krait CPU is 4-instructions wide vs iPhone's 6-instructions wide?

That doesn't seem to be the case at all according to the ArsTechnica review: 128MB cripples the phone to the point of near-useless. The original iPhone had 128MB RAM.

That's mainly because of the magical super-slip coating on the glass back, isn't it? I swear my iPhone 4 used to slide off level surfaces.

That's what I've always thought as well. We have large numbers of very intelligent people dedicating all their efforts to playing games with the values of real companies. It seems like a massive waste of talent IMHO.
