My only-mostly-joking answer is that you can go work for a typical Silicon Valley style technology company, and stay around for two or three four-year vesting periods. Most of them have Google-influenced design doc processes, and few if any

Simon's blog is fragmented because it's, well, a blog. It would be hard to find a better source to "keep updated on things AI" though. He does do longer summary articles sometimes, but mostly he's keeping up with th

This is the bet Roc is taking. They call it "Opportunistic Mutation" and you can read about it at https://www.roc-lang.org/functional I didn't see links on that page, but IIRC, there's a particular paper

Reading just the headline, I thought that's what this post was referring to. I used to give the Skyline overlapping rectangle problem at Google for several years, until it got banned. I'd say that with appropriate nudges, most can

As noted by other commenters, the author addresses this, although I would have loved to have had a version of all the _statistics_ with name-based drops elided.

LaunchDarkly has a mix of OpenFeature providers they wrote, and quite reasonable community-contributed ones, depending on language. They are also very actively engaged with OF in meetings, discussions, etc. (We are a big LD user at work.)

It's fun and valuable to have a place to land proposals and try them out early (seems like TS itself should have flags for this though). The problem is that as the proposal is refined, or if it is rejected, it implies constant changes

As another comment pointed out, it's a Douglas Adams quote. Also, are we not hackers? If we can't sprinkle jokes into discussions of serious things without thinking that makes the whole discussion unserious, what have we become? M

Sadly, Fandom still has a lot of search mojo. For instance, when searching for "minecraft redstone filter bedrock" I get a link to the Fandom minecraft wiki rather than minecraft.wiki. Hopefully over time, that corrects itself. Al

Random question: do you work with the new wikis to create some kind of license that prevents Fandom from scraping future changes back into their version of the wikis? Obviously the technical modifications can't translate, but it seems

The article explicitly covers this question. Looks like they're setting up explicit legal(?) agreements. One key point is the domain name: minecraft.wiki, for example, not a subdomain of something owned by Weird Gloop. So the wiki can
