The JavaScript examples don't show what you would write in JavaScript, they show the compiled JavaScript output when you write it in CoffeScript.

I wear some old leather gloves that have the cloth lining worn off at the fingertips. They work well and are probably warmer than thin mesh gloves. As long as the leather is in direct contact with skin it should work.

People aren't understanding the purpose of this "ban." They aren't banning location-based ads, they are banning the use of the Core Location framework when it is being used only for advertising. They are protecting a good user experience.

I don't know of any recent studies, haven't really looked, but I've been typing in Dvorak for about two years and this is my take on it. 1. I don't think the superiority of one or the other is really the issue here. The issue is making the

I have no idea if this is the case in Haiti, but in many parts of the world electricity is not on all the time. I wonder if that has something to do with it...

It would be great if this app provided some other functionality that helps with problems like that. For instance, MailChimp takes CSS styles and modifies your HTML by placing your CSS into inline style tags. This is great, because you can h

Maybe you aren't the target market. There's a lot of computing that gets done in which people don't type more than a few words at a time. Yes, keyboards are great. Some people are so good at using the keyboards that they hardly need a mouse

I've been using MongoMapper with Rails for a while and I've really enjoyed it. It's so freeing to be able to include embedded documents or other modules and not have to deal with migrations. ActiveRecord is great, but MongoDB and MongoMappe

You could still use it if you like the syntax better and just precompile it. Same deal with sass ( http://sass-lang.com/ ).

A huge airship — just the first of many. The first would probably be capable of lifting around 400 tons, but subsequent airships could be made larger and more efficient. Yes, I'm being absolutely serious. I'm part of a group of people tryin

I think part of the problem is that they don't seem to view building good products as a 'compelling business reason.'

That doesn't really fix the issue though... Sure, you won't have "global outages," but I would bet that the overall amount of downtime would be significantly larger when installed on private servers and not centralized and managed by 37sign

I don't see this as a problem since this is for user interface elements. Pictures and larger graphics probably wouldn't be a part of this and would be handled separately.

It's disconcerting to discover the cause of my server problems today via a thread on Hacker News instead of getting an email or from their RSS feed or something. That being said, I think Linode is great and I've had a great experience with

I agree that you shouldn't punish users that don't have a choice, but it's not always practical or possible to just send them to a stripped down version. For read-only sites, fine. But IE6 could cause some serious problems for many web apps

Agreed. I type in Dvorak and have an iPhone. The brain doesn't see desktop and mobile typing in the same way. I actually type faster and much more naturally in QWERTY on the iPhone than on a proper keyboard. I'd love to see Apple ship a Dvo

You ask: "So why promote delicious bookmarking at all!?" Well, it seems to me that you should spend more time asking yourself how to serve your visitors rather than how to serve yourself. The reason so much of the internet sucks is because
