Agree! I would love to see this, as its exactly the kind of "benefit" (or "perk" if you will) we were hoping to offer at Sentry. This is our way-more-of-a-pita implementation of getting users voices into what projects we

For folks reading this - and we'll solve this at a global scale - check your `SENTRY_DSN` setting and if its not using something like `oXXXXX.ingest.sentry.io` you should consider rolling out the updated value (located in your project

I'm not actually sure what you're referring to (as CTO I promise you I am not managing any of our GitHub repositories or anything at that level). If you think there are concerns with the PHP SDKs you seem to know where to express

Usually people use that term for security concerns these days, which definitely exist for open source. I've seen stuff over the years where people have attempted to do bounties for implementing a feature/bugfix/etc, but its n

I don't want to derail this thread, but Sentry isn't tracking. Can you hypothetically track users with Sentry? Sure. Do we provide any of those capabilities? No. Treating products like Sentry the same as advertising and analytics

I'm not actually sure we use Rollup fwiw. The contributions were democratized via our employees - we asked them where we should direct funding for individual projects. So what that ultimately means is some person(s) at Sentry valued th

I agree there's a lot of session replay style equivilents (and rrweb is great!), though what Replay is doing unfortunately cannot be done in production in the same way. In the ideal world this level of data could be extracted from prod

Reading this thread I was surprised about the amount of conjecture when someone could literally just read the source - or read your comment - to know precisely what the intent is. This is entirely correct. The `sentry-cli` binary is primari

They aren't in our case. Open Source doesn't have to mean community built, and Sentry (the product) is built almost exclusively by our company. Our philosophy is something along the lines of: Pull Requests are nice, but we'd

I've got to agree here. We - as an industry, not a cult of naysayers - need to evolve our views of what is 'in the spirit of open source'. BSL fits that definition from my eyes.

That only helps when it’s coupled to the page. Doesn’t make a ton of sense in our use case as it’s just an arbitrary component. It would have to support queries based on component props, but that’s even more complexity in an existing nightm

It's a fair question that everyone should ask themselves in our shoes. If we did it again maybe we'd rethink. That said, the entire goal was to allow a non-engineer to more easily enable our end-users with documentation. We didn&#

You're extremely limited in what you can compile as a GraphQL query, so while yes I agree with you that likely there is some stuff we're simply doing wrong.. good luck doing it right. After all, its a database query language tryin

I'd say it's more "how can we ship the simplest version of Sentry possible". Important to know we do much, much more than what they're offering, for far more than just JavaScript. It's more of a checkbox than a

Looks awesome! I went down the homelab-ish rabbit hole recently myself and it was probably the most fun I've had in a long time on a project. My goals were more about hosting a bunch of IoT stuff internally (sensors, cameras, etc), but
