I've gone through http://learnyouahaskell.com/ and it wasn't too hard. About the only difficulty is the pointless and contradictory jargon like "point free" or the hand-waving about Monads and how they violate their purely functional exec

1. It's not a "post", it's a single chapter in a whole book http://learnpythonthehardway.org/book/ which I'm guessing you won't read because you clearly can't read. 2. I am old compared to a lot of programmers, but yes it was kind of a jo

Ah, pedantry, the pinnacle of all evaluations of a single statement one could make. Next you should criticize how the book doesn't cover decorator generators that use @wrap or how it doesn't cover discrete mathematics. That'll be very eff

Oh, I'm so glad you, the one arbiter of all that is art, is able to correct our misunderstanding of the definition of "art". The truth is, you can't define art, so in the same way I can use paint to paint my house, or use paint to create a

No, because failing to ignore the history of the person telling you something and their motivations is how you get slippery slope logic that leads to things like using Eugenics to validate killing people who are poor or mentally ill.

Only 10% of the ruby on rails community who had to admit the entire platform was based on lies hates me for that. The rest of the world is glad I wrote it.

I knew some github employee(s) were in on it, and that if I removed it he'd just add it again, and at that point just figured why the hell am I bothering with this? Might as well fight back at the jerk and then hope he gets a hint.

If I suspect someone at github is in on the joke, then submitting a ticket to have them fix the problem wouldn't work. They'd just laugh at me and ignore it like they've done with other people.

You have to stand up to the trolls now. The internet has created a permanent record of slander and humiliation from anonymous people, so if you don't stand up to it then it'll be assumed that there was some merit to what they said.

That'd be a good moderate solution. It'd keep the simplicity of your collaborator UI intact, but let me avoid this kind of abuse. You might want to make it a "remove" and a "remove and block" so that people don't get into a bad state on ac
