Agreed, I’ve found aiohttp works wonderfully as both client and server.

Oh no, turn back while you still can. My team is in full revolt due to a company-wide migration from Slack to Teams. Teams is worse in almost every way. We're seeing lots of missing functionality, bizarre UI bugs, random crashes, extre

FWIW, if you're already logged in to the console, it seems to be working just fine. In fact, if I try to go to a specific service page, e.g. https://s3.console.aws.amazon.com/s3/home?region=us-east-1# instead of j

Terraform really shines when you have a complex environment that depends on various external services. I don't know enough about your architecture to comment on the benefits for you, but for a generic web services environment on, say,

Great documentation! The extra level of detail like explaining the command for running the server is super helpful for less experienced users.

Right, but that doesn't really explain anything. Maybe the author is concerned about some future changes in the nginx project and they're preemptively moving away from NGINX, but even if that's the reason, it's not much

He's not kidding about the joy of traveling by rail. The train from London to Edinburgh was by far the most pleasant travel experience I've had. The low stress boarding, the spacious, comfortable seats, and lack of turbulence made

Are you running your Lambdas inside the VPC (and incurring huge cold-start latency), or are you running your database exposed to the public internet? I've avoided using Lambda for anything that requires relational database connectivity

You were always able to use a custom domain with Lambda, via API Gateway, just like you can now via ALB.

I agree. We started using Redis with AWS' managed offering (Elasticache), then migrated to running it on our own once we were comfortable with it. I can imagine the same path for Kafka use.

Hopefully they have a solution for connecting to RDS from Lambda without incurring the huge cold start time and other problems of having the Lambda inside the VPC. Ideally it would be something like PgBouncer with a security group that only

Do you have recommendations on provisioning memory in aggregators vs leaves? That is, would one of those configurations make for sense than the other for typical workloads?

I'd recommend against searching via the web UI. I use awslogs[0] daily and find it an effective way to search and filter logs. [0] https://github.com/jorgebastida/awslogs

Yeah, I would recommend it in certain circumstances. EKS has $150/month base cost for the control plane, so for small environments it's too expensive. For groups with existing experience with Docker and Docker Compose but no exper

It sounds like they really wanted to switch to K8s and rationalized it. The cons of their existing solution are minor and easily addressed with correct use of Ansible, and the massive complexity of K8s is understated. As an example, they su

If you click the pushpin icon in the web interface, you'll get a dropdown with the services and their icons. You can drag icons into your top bar as shortcuts.

I have that scraper, and found that it really doesn't do a very good job. A balled up piece of aluminum foil works better than the wooden scrapers, in my experience. Unfortunately, the best results come from the bristle brushes.
