It is a legitimate question, though, with an answer that is yes you can, in theory, but no large markets currently support it, and the ones that do don't allow naked shorts. As mentioned elsewhere in the thread, two that allow shorting look

Out of curiosity, I started looking at what a three-months salary engagement ring would look like if I proposed to my wife today. Man am I lucky I got married right at the end of college and we purchased the engagement ring and wedding band

Oh so that explains why it's the top comment on an otherwise benign post. He's a pretty major hacker, whatever that means, so people just upvote him because of that?

I have worked in or around news organizations for about a decade. A few years ago, during a major flood event, we tried out drones, specifically a pair of Parrot ARs. These were great for use in a large stadium, where could get a bird's eye

As a cyclist, I get pissed at every driver parking in the bike lane, speeding down the street, blowing through red lights, taking multiple lanes, etc. Bad drivers isn't exclusive to cyclists. I think you just notice the bad cyclists because

Yeah, this drives me nuts. I can easily pace 20-23mph on a bicycle for quite some time in a 25mph speed zone. The problem is most of the vehicles on that road are traveling 40.

Dooring is a huge fear of mine as a cyclist, as is getting sideswiped by a right-turning vehicle while I'm crossing an intersection. Also, sometimes I need to turn left, and that means merging into the auto lanes. Personally, I prefer most

Thank you so much for saying this. One of the main reason I contribute to projects on Kickstarter is that I KNOW the big studios/publishers/whatever are consolidating. They're racing to produce the things with the biggest mass appeal. Somet

I get your point, but a legal opinion from the Department of Justice is not the same as a "program." Set the hyperbole aside and realize that laws are always in flux, and that the courts largely define things like "unreasonable search," etc

There are quite a few ways to answer your question, so I'll do my best to address all of them that come to mind. First, why does anyone need to know anything? There's a favorite passage of mine in Walden about news being gossip, and those t

You potentially drive prices down, too, by exploiting cost of living outside your location. There are plenty of good programmers living in relatively cheap places (Like the Midwest, for example). Pay someone in Minneapolis $10-15k less per

When people say "stole the election" I think that's shorthand for "Bush won on a technicality." Bush v. Gore lead to an agreement from the court that Florida badly fucked up certification, but because of Title 3, the fuck up would have to s

In the east, there's a ton of tech. Microsoft's second largest campus is in Fargo, and with that comes a lot of satellite companies (vendors, consultancies, etc). There's also nano tech and a ton of biotech here. UND in Grand Forks is well-

It depends on where you are in western ND. Ranching is a big industry there. Much of the alfalfa and oats are grown to sustain the ranching. The "farms" as you'd more traditionally think of them are more to the central and eastern portion o

The issue is primarily that mineral rights were sold years ago to acquire the natural gas and coal in the region. We always knew there was oil in Bakken (never this much, though) but couldn't extract it until fracking came along. The proble

We have plenty of use for it, but nowhere to put the abundance. Natural gas might as well be free in ND. Half a million homes is all of ND. For reference, I have a 104-year-old, drafty as hell ~2200 square foot home in Fargo, where I pay ab

The pay at McDonald's in Williston is around $18/hour starting. Kids keep leaving for the fields, though, because if they have a skill, they can make twice as much. It's not without problems, though. Public school teachers in Dickinson are

Half a million homes is pretty much all of North Dakota, where heating bills in BRUTAL winters have been driven to insane lows because of the abundance of natural gas. We'd need to export it, and we don't have the infrastructure, and that's

No. Mineral rights were likely sold off long ago for gas and coal, which have always been known to be out in western ND. It's the oil people haven't been able to get at until fracking.
