Well that is depressing and a tragic case. While testifying before the nursing board last year, foreshadowing her defense in the upcoming trial, Vaught said that at the time of Murphey's death, Vanderbilt was instructing nurses to use

I would wholeheartedly agree with this. I've tried Dahon, Tern, and one other frame I can't recall after pining for a Brompton for years but eventually bit the bullet and purchased one for myself. No comparison. It's my favou

I think it is great you have managed to ship this but as another poster pointed out there were quite significant delays and frustrations with your backers. Some years backI looked it up again and saw forum discussion with further frustratio

I too read the headlines, select articles, comments for these articles and try to stop after page 2/3 to avoid procrastinating. The discourse is refreshingly reasonable even for politicized topics (e.g. understandably anything re: Russ

I like the keyboard, but my hope is they will just have an alternative keyboard one can swap in.

Another vote for this. I purchased a framework to replace a surface product and have been really happy with it running windows 10 ltsc. My only beef is that it lost a lot of battery life while in suspend. For a regular consumer this woul

I'm in the exact same position. I wish they posted more regular updates... I am not very confident this service will be around in 5 years as a result.

Thanks, I hadn't heard of zed. More reliable solution than catching a fault with a login script. I was pretty happy when I found msmtp and imagine I can make them work together.

You seem very knowledgeable about this. I'm a hobbyist who runs debian with a 6 drive raidz2 array in the basement. Hardware aside, do you have any housekeeping suggestions that will help me keep it running well? My approach is a logi

I feel like that issue could be solved by creating a random unique say 16 digit UID that users could then add as a phone number for contacts. As long as it does not map to a real routable phone number a phone dialer won't have issues

Another vote for migadu. I've used migadu for my family between two domains on their cheapest plan. I've been very happy with it. Their webclient while functional is a bit barebones so we use phone email + emclient on laptops with

I will add my anecdotal perspective as a rheumatologist at a tertiary care centre to your second last reference. I have a lot of respect for the work my NP/PA colleagues do, particularly on the ward. Yet I see a notable difference in

I'll give you my perspective. I migrated away from GMail years ago for my domain. MX records point to the other host. I have all their core services turned off except Maps and Drive (I don't host anything). I only keep the accoun

I /wish/ I could migrate to a regular gmail account from me@mydomain.tld. I've put up with a crippled account for years that can't access arbitrary features or leave store reviews because of my play store purchase libra

I posted about my homebrew solution for photos/documents/scan archiving with a local NAS + encrypted offsite backup on a VPS last week at https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=29863822#29888273 . My use case is 30

I run Windows 10 LTSC 1809 which has extended support until 2029-01-09 (security and bug fixes). Licensed via my academic institution. It is stripped of the store, edge and a few other features which may be a draw for some.

I made an account just for this as a lurker because I'm excited to share! My goal was encrypted offsite backup for critical stuff and photos, local redundancy for everything, not exposing my local machines to the internet, and most imp
