Agree. It can be but you need to insert version control in there to protect from this. Either as a software package, iterative backups, or the file system.

It's a good way of doing it with near unlimited bandwidth and if a machine or drive dies you just replace it with no data loss. I save everything important encrypted on my vps to seafile and my Nas pills back night backups back home. S

It would be exceptional to get a healthy competitor to microsoft/nuance's dragon monopoly on voice recognition in healthcare. At a couple thousand bucks a license and the more recent SaaS subscription trend there is a lot of mone

I certainly don't want to run afoul of the etiquette rules here but I would ask yourself if you are projecting your long-standing familiarity and the resulting intuition that you have with these units onto everyone else. Nobody who use

Fair points, I certainly don't want to imply that I build everything I use from scratch. I couldn't ever match the quality or waterproof usability of my boots or build a bike frame. Although the latter might be a fun workshop to f

Bookmarked! That's great and something more folks should be aware of. I started making my own hiking gear years ago and it has been fun passion of mine. Cost aside, the biggest benefit is developing a comfort in modifying and fixing ex

That makes sense and I didn't appreciate it was NFC based. Canada was pretty quick to bring in tap credit cards so I've just done this and not set it up.

That's very fair. Thanks! I keep a credit card in my phone case for tap so am old school I guess and haven't set this up.

I'm curious what your use case for NFC is.

As a techy individual, I found it cost prohibitive with 2 accounts over 2 custom domains for my self and my spouse. Switched to my own nextcloud and migadu and haven't looked back. At this point my strategy is just to desilo as much as

This is lovely. You should also put a previous and next link at the bottom for anyone that doesn't have buttons or wants to read it minimalist style on a regular device or phone.

I can certainy imagine someone trying out linux and accidentally nuking their windows partitions in doing so or having GRUB replace their bootloader and figuring out ??? to boot back to windows.

Fully agree and I had similar experiences with framework. I think the majority of folks posting here are not typical users and find it natural to jump in the terminal, edit some setting, restart a service and tinker without realizing the e

Thats a very good point. It reminds of me the first time I pulled out bear spray, thumb off the clip, and prepared to use it. I didn't have to because yelling, making yourself big, and stomping can go a long way. When it was over I not

Hopefully this will contribute to a regulatory denial of Rogers' upcoming purchase of Shaw, if only to keep a competitor with its own separate infrastructure to minimize outages through consolidation.

Neat idea. You may have addressed this but one suggesting is allowing to creating a scalable canvas (at least vertically) and annotating that blank slate. The only software I know that does this well (with robust search) is onenote. I am no

Agere, the train station location in most cities is more convenient than the aurport, although not as good as my experiences in Europe. If you want a good laugh of how to do it wrong, look up 'saskatoon train station' on maps.
