This is analogies to finding a new prime number by brute force using existing maths, rather than inventing new maths to get there. The AI in this case didn't create a novel technology- it merely used the existing technology without bas

There's a few confounding factors: - larger percentage of population living in urban centers without the room for larger families - full time employment for both spouses becomes necessary as cost of living increases - delayed marriage

As defined by the Census bureau. https://www.census.gov/data/tables/time-series/demo/income-p... There's a link below the tables to a PDF that describes the definitions and methods used.

No, the numbers I referred to are percentages. The decline in birthrates doesn't factor in.

It isn't class warfare if the two (or more) sides aren't divided by class. What OP meant was the income and wealth gaps are they only things they care about, not the only things that are real.

If you look at the actual numbers, the trend over the last several decades is a steadily shrinking number of people in poverty in the US. If the only thing you look at are the wage gaps, you're ignoring the very real gains the lower en

None of those things are classes in the sense of the times the notion of class warfare was first pitched, and many of them cross classes. There's plenty of poor/impoverished boomers, blues, reds, city and country folk

The majority of people being old is a relatively modern problem. One could even argue that it is a problem specific to cultures that favor low or negative birthrates.

There's a bunch of options from a Google search, but embedding it in a thin C program and building that with https://github.com/jart/cosmopolitan would be a pretty go-like experience, I'd think.

Considering the massive layoffs and cold market post COVID, the answer is "no" for a lot of companies. Theoretically, there's a lot of room for marginal work where developer time isn't worth the cost for the output but t

The Earth's crust will take far longer to move yucca than the nuclear waste will be a problem. That's the whole reason that site was chosen. Even Yellowstone isn't set to blow on that time scale.

I actually did produce a technical solution: stick it deep in yucca mountain and forget about it. It's safe, and there's more than enough room for the little waste that can't be turned back into fuel.

For one thing, nuclear power plants produce much less waste than most people imagine. Waste can also be reprocessed into new fuel, further reducing it. In the US, we have a suitable site that has been authorized and cancelled for 20 some ye

Ah, yeah, that does make more sense. I'm glad I tend to work in spaces where cute animations aren't desirable. The last thing any product needs is pointless transitions and a whole new class of race conditions and timing bugs.

We already have medicines that treat the problem. We've had it solved for a long time. We didn't need to genetically modify flies to solve it then, and we don't now. See sibling threads.
