This was very nice to read. In my experience with articles for deletion, I've never seen the closing administrator's reasons laid out like this. I hope this happens more often than it used to.

It doesn't make sense. If it were a demo, wouldn't Intel stamp "DEMO" on it all over, so it wouldn't be mistaken for the real thing? Also, as the article points out, why would there be a blank manual in a demo chip, and why would Intel make

Not to be an apologist, but you still have to account for programmer skill and number of programmers. I'd be interested in seeing the average and median for different programming languages, not just the top results.

The discussion of Penn Station ( http://www.slate.com/id/2246104/ ) in the same series has more concrete examples, and is pretty cool if you've spent time in Penn.

I read staunch's post as a joke -- "obviously Wikipedia is correct, so have pg fix paulgraham.com to what Wikipedia says".

Wikipedia says "Applied Sciences" ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paul_Graham ), but paulgraham.com says Computer Science ( http://www.paulgraham.com/bio.html ).

Interesting how pg is the only YC founder listed here. Other than being the most visible face of YC, why is only he on the list?

I was thinking more along the lines of "we tested this, and it doesn't help condition X", not "this will harm you". The article's down now, but I recall the lowest level being "no evidence". That implies that no tests have been done.

I'm in the US, and I've seen them (here's one at Target: http://www.target.com/Haier-Front-Load-Washer-Dryer-Combo/dp... ). From what I've seen, they're more expensive. Also, if you're doing N loads, it takes longer if you have one combo u

Interesting; this article says the rewrite rule is F -> F+F-F-F+F , but Wikipedia says F → F−F++F−F . I think Wikipedia's is right, as (for a beginning) there are only four line segments in step N+1 for each line segment in step N.

This doesn't account for the fact that Avatar on 3D IMAX costs more than an average movie. They're using $7.35 as the ticket price, not the $17 I've seen as the actual price. From the article: "Inflation-adjustment is mostly done by multipl

I use Colemak ( http://colemak.com/ ), and I'm up to about 70 WPM (measured at typeracer.com, not anything more scientific). Unfortunately, I did no QWERTY tests before switching, so I can't compare, but I doubt I was significantly higher.
