I felt like racism against asians did get a little worse this year. A lot of it is probably due to china coming up a lot more in the news so I start noticing the stereotyping/generalizations surfacing in the comment threads. Usually we

Can you elaborate what the implications are? Is the attack something like a malicious site operator cnameing subdomain.evil.com to yourbank.com and which can then be accessed from evil.com? Same origin policy would still block that right?

My initial reaction is that this counts as malicious. But thinking about it some more, I at least don't mind clothing ads using me as the model. (Assuming there's opt in and all) It's better than mentally swapping out the ski

Does anyone have good technical resources on how mesh networks work? Who's the authority on the identity of a recipient? Do you exchange something out of band (for example a QR code) first? How do messages get routed? How do messages b

That makes a lot sense, thank you! I was stuck on the visualization analogy where choosing the wrong axes for the histogram makes it useless (e.g., when all the data falls into the same bin you can't see the shape of the distribution).

No background in this, my layman interpretation is: Track a histogram with log-scaled bins. These are easy to increment and only takes up size of the number of bins in terms of memory. Two histograms from different servers can easily be mer

I thought you were going to go the other direction with your first sentence. It took some 4 billion years to go from the first cell to the first homosapien. Maybe another 400,000 years to get from that to how we are today. That means 0.01%

His first bullet point is probably the most practical thing I know about logging. Log lines are useless without context especially when the lines are interleaved. But this is easily fixed just by prefixing them with a context id that you fi
