The SkylerNovak and Robert something accounts have been created only a couple hours ago. They're just trolling. I think you're being perfectly courteous and upmodded you accordingly.

Maybe not absolutely "anybody," but it allows a lot of people with no sense of aesthetics to make decent-looking documents, which is still pretty successful. If you don't need to do any mathematical notation, TeX is not difficult to use, es

Goddamn it, why do we still feel the need to emphasize "the most powerful FEMALE" executive bit? Isn't it enough to recognize that she's damn powerful without taking her out of the general pool of executives and thereby not comparing her to

The problem with those studies is that they analyzed successful experts. I want to see a study where they have everyone putting in thousands of hours of work. How many kids get into Juilliard every year, and how many achieve the same level

Just because you're deaf, doesn't mean you can't have mechanical aptitude. And what if your limitation is that you have Down's Syndrome? Clearly, some parts of human ability are genetic, and some of the variance in human ability is innate.

It makes more sense to say that talent is necessary but not sufficient. I'd like the writer to provide examples of people who had no apparent talent at all, even lacking whatever talents are necessary to get into a good college, and show me

Which of Google's billion dollar resources did Sergey use? It's a fucking blog post. He can write pro-gay blog posts and still donate to AIDS orphans at the same time.

They've actually done a study on the effect of colleges on success here: http://www.nber.org/papers/w7322 . They looked at students who got into Princeton about 30 years ago, and compared the success of those who went to Princeton versus t

Well, explaining why you thought a point was wrong is a little different than trying to hide dislike or indifference towards a person. The former isn't personal.

By "easy to work with" I mean qualities such as being amiable, outgoing, funny, or good-looking. Those are valuable traits, but pointing out who's the nicest guy in the room's not the problem here, and it's not even a difficult problem to s
