I salute you for having the humbleness to see it. There is horrific pain and suffering out there, one has only to hang out a bit with people outside the tech bubble to see it. Talk to your mechanic, the waiter, the landscape guy, the aging

We never had it and we have never been this unhappy. Read "Coming apart". It focuses on whites, but the lessons there apply to any demographic. The economy has come to value one thing above all others: intellectual aptitude. Intel

Wait, so you think white men are not killing themselves out of despair? Or maybe that if they are they are pussies unable to see how privileged they are even in their despair? Or maybe that they have reasons to despair, but that every singl

That is a brilliant synthesis of the crux of the issue. Our community is powerful and full of their own virtue while simultaneously largely disconnected from issues they so protest about. No actual skin in the game, so much power, so much c

Don't forget the file system and how locking by a rogue program can stop your build (and your workflow) until you figure out which program has a handle to the file you want to rebuild. The lack of scriptability of most tools. The perpe

It is sad indeed, that we lost the ability to discuss difficult issues. But it is true nonetheless, it is impossible to discuss politics unless we all pretend to be on the same page, and yes, in tech for the most part that is the left page.

Because tech culture has skewed so insanely towards the authoritarian left that any challenge to the orthodoxy your post suggests is immediately weaponized. There is simply no way to honestly discuss the points you bring up without putting

Like it or not, different racial groups have significantly differential SAT mean scores. And the US has a growing number of minorities that do not do well on said tests.
