I don’t think this is a fair take in this particular situation. My comment is in response to Simon Willison, who has a very popular blog in the LLM space. This isn’t company marketing copy; it’s trusted third parties spreading this misleadi

I put the fault on companies for making their login processes so convoluted. If you take the time to do it, you can usually configure the password manager to work (we shouldn’t have to make the effort). But even if you do, then the company

What these tweets about Apple silicon never show you: waiting 20+ minutes for it to ingest 32k context tokens. (Probably a lot longer for these big models.)

We will buy 4 cards if they are 48 GB or more. At a measly 16 GB, we’re just going to stick with 3090s, P40s, MI50s, etc. > 3x VRAM speed and 3x compute LLM scaling doesn’t work this way. If you have 4 cards, you may get 2x performance i

Running Chrome will make you highly fingerprint-able since it has so many APIs that can identify your hardware and software configurations directly or indirectly. It doesn’t help you “blend in” at all.

The absurdity of this argument speaks for itself. "You're unqualified to judge it because it's so bad you can't tolerate using it." I suffered through Google search's decline for the last 15 years along with ev

I'm not sure I have ever seen "AI overview" not hallucinate. Granted, I only end up at google on other people's computers or on some fresh install where I haven't configured search yet.

I think your point is we need deeper security improvements than only patching back doors. But it does come across like saying “hackers don’t need to guess passwords to get in, therefore just use hunter2.”

Thanks for your great work with quants. I would really appreciate UD GGUFs for V3.1-Base (and even more so, GLM-4.5-Base + Air-Base).

So DHH fell for Sam’s scam. He tried OSS 20b and wasn’t impressed, and apparently dismisses all local models based on that experience with a known awful model.

No, this is the time it takes for the proven treatment advances to reach rank-and-file doctors (and insurance policies). I've read the numbers 17 to 22 years I think. There are studies on this, but I don't have references handy.

This is like people who vigorously criticize Mozilla's moral failings while using Google Chrome. Heaven forbid we choose the option that is 2% evil instead of the one that is 98% evil.
