I have been using my current home PLP setup for 10 years. Dell U3011 (2560x1600) in middle and Dell 2007FP (1200x1600) on the sides. Off and on I have looked for high dpi replacements, but never found anything suitable. At the beginning of

There's no single elected official that has power to fix this. It's a complex web of responsibilities. Government has immense momentum. It's a herculean task for even a majority of elected officials to significantly change it

I agree it's fine, and needs to happen. Let's not pretend that it enforces any accountability on the officers involved in this suit. (Which is what the quote says. As interpret it, anyway.) It's just a tiny part of what needs

I fully support the ACLU in these lawsuits. However, their last paragraph states "If the government refuses to hold its officers accountable for their unlawful actions, we will." But suing the state doesn't result in accounta

'Infringing copyright' is also a correct verb for this situation. I 100% agree that 'stealing' is not a valid word to use here. But I also don't expect most authors to be happy calling it 'sharing'.

Personally, I have been using byuu's user script for this. I also love it for the click tracking removal and display of the complete url. https://byuu.org/projects/google

This used to be built-in to google itself. You could choose to block a site from future results from any results page. But they killed it, along with forum search, code search, usenet search, and so many other useful things.

Every year or so I look for a new wiki that does markdown and git. I don't remember ever coming across wiki.js before. I need to check this out. Thanks for mentioning it.

For Threadripper, all CPUs and motherboards are fully validated for ECC. (AMD requires Threadripper motherboards to implement ECC.) It's only Ryzen where the CPUs support ECC, but AMD doesn't require AM4 socket motherboards to imp

"The Amazing $1 Microcontroller" is a great place to start. It covers the main ARM micro families. Essentially you're looking for differences in peripherals, since the CPU is the same for any given Cortex M0, M3, etc. https:

Avago's datasheets were thorough and easy to understand. Pixart datasheets, if you can find one, are incomplete and full of grammatical non-sequiturs and ambiguities. I really miss Avago.

ISA SATA card makes perfect sense to me. :) All those MFM drives are dead or dying. Protocols like SATA are implemented in hardware, and you buy an IC controller chip for the purpose. So the task with this project is to implement something

It was 20 years ago that I bought my first VAXstation 3100 on eBay for under $100. Later got a VAXstation 4000 and an AlphaServer 2100. Got rid of them all during a period of downsizing. Along with some nice terminals and other DEC equipmen

Electron isn’t just JavaScript, else I would have said JavaScript. Electron is front and center in the movement to shorten development time by consuming more PC resources at runtime. I feel that’s the spirit of the prediction.
