I agree with your first two paragraphs completely. But your conclusion surprised me and I disagree with it. If the current OSS is funded by oligarchs, and we agree that is not ideal, wouldn’t it make sense to look at how democratic governme

If we allocated as much space for scooter storage than we do for car storage, wouldn't scooter parking also be done in officially sanctioned places?

It's possible to address both in parallel... But the car storage problem should get priority over the scooter storage problem, because it's a much larger problem.

If we're concerned about using up municipal land for vehicle storage, shouldn't we first address the enormous amount of street space permanently reserved for car storage?

You're making three assumptions: 1) that anyone who criticizes Assange is automatically an apologist for state-sanctioned crimes; 2) that the good things done by Wikileaks in its early days are entirely thanks to one man, Assange; 3) t

An independent foundation for Rust makes a lot of sense. No doubt the Linux Foundation will pounce on this opportunity to absorb yet another project into its orbit... I would prefer if Rust steered clear of LF / CNCF if possible. Their

I completely agree with you on slack for open-source projects. Especially with Mattermost being so good, there’s no good reason for a project to stick to Slack.

It's still early, but incredibly exciting. I personally am betting on CUE as the "winner" in this space. Its creator is enormously credible. Most of the other configuration languages in this space are directly inspired by his

Two things to note when looking at that list: 1. Bushfires may be more frequent in some parts of Australia than others. So two bushfires of equal size, but occuring in different regions, may not necessarily be equally common. 2. The list on

Just to be clear, you are willing to say on the record that the Obama campaign and Manaford, a convicted criminal who is known to have worked for a mass murdering autocratic regime as their expert electoral fixer, are “essentially the same”

You’re making a false equivalence. The Obama campaign hired savvy analysts and marketers to run a modern web and email campaign. A lot of what they did was pioneer what is now standard in almost every campaign: heavy use of email follow-ups

Go support is not great either. Bazel can build Go just fine, but you will need to throw away the standard Go tooling and use Bazel instead. There are third-party helpers like Gazelle, but you know you’re in for a bumpy ride when even basic

By "B2B adtech" I mean "sells ads to businesses". This includes not just adsense, but adwords as well. Whether the ad is served on Google's sites or elsewhere, it's a business paying for it. Not that this seman
