Learning git by heart has immense value if you've got a team that doesn't grok rebasing and merging or just a cross-functional team with QA's commiting to a monorepo. I can diagnose and fix issues for people in around 5 minut

Developers come in all shapes and sizes. Some barely use Slack and are laconic on standups. The whole Agile (tm) is a surface treatment for having a grasp on complexity. It's more of a ritual thing than an exact science. The introvert

A friend worked in a startup where 20-30 people of the tech dept. had a hour long standup. QA, sysadmins, developers - all had their 2 minutes to essentially do a daily status update. I'm glad I haven't lived through that hell.

We've got a git hook that prettifies and runs unit tests on commit. Works very nicely. Formatting is one flame war, another is code style. We've automated that too with sticking to airbnb. If there are any warning a commit does no

That's more telling about problematic mechanics in your org than about jQuery itself. Did that convincing developer have more influence than the rest of the team? Why the PM was involved in implementation minutiae? From what I've

Poland evidently lags behind then. Still C/C++ and Java. Got a lot of colleagues stuck in Java after finishing degrees.

There's middleware that links the history API to redux/mobx state changes. It's a one line fix for certain apps and a curse for others.

uBlock does has the same if you enable advanced mode in the settings. IIRC it's based on uMatrix heavily.

It looks like an ongoing trends in that market. People started caring about people they interface with so your local (but a global) discount shop needs to jump as high as they can to cater to the compassion weak point. Bad PR is effective a

That's what we eventually do but the lockfiles don't care, a resource url is a resource url. We use yarn too which does proxies only in .yarnrc IIRC. Do you have an externally available Nexus? Using ours through a VPN beats the ma

We have Nexus in a subnet for faster installing. We had to write scripts porting over lockfiles from npm to nexus and back. This had to be added to a precommit hook to not break CI. Seriously, package.json should allow to specify what endpo

In Poland there's an unwritten custom of saying thanks by flashing emergency stop lights for two ticks. The most common use case is when someone lets you through when they don't have to. On freeways the same is used by cars coming

Indeed. Had to port a 2k perl script with gigantic comment blocks written in German. Eventually I recreated the intended functionality with ~150 lines of JS after painfully google translating everything. JIRA references would probably be lo

The idea with whitelisting is viable. Use a freehunter+superimportant@gmail.com email for these and then in the classic interface set a filter that will land these mails always in your inbox with an additional label. Been doing this kind of
