The most important service: instant money transfer (mostly) irrespective of physical location. I had one use-case this week where paypal would not work. I needed to withdraw the amount I was to be paid by my client and paypal has a $400/day

Pooling the resources is more likely to be efficient. May be on paper. But at least the way it works in the US, the so-called fund(aka social security) that is supposed to help you out in old-age is pretty much bankrupt.

It's a product with very little traction and an inferior experience to what's already in the market(twitter, fb). Unfortunately pockets of traction for a product as old as Buzz means very little. Social for big guys like fb and google is ab

Buzz symbolizes everything wrong with Google's social strategy. They need to move on. Linking to dead properties and adding a few fields isn't going to fix social.

Is this a happy, content guy? I donno, but being "content" is the last thing I expect to find in entrepreneurs. And as far as happiness goes, doesn't it largely depend on what yard stick you're using to measure it? I am not saying they do

I think the new blogs can do both, just turn the dial more towards startups and more dev/tech. Not unless the founders of the blog make a very explicit decision to pass on financial benefits to continue covering start-ups. Like you said,
