My question is how could they filter further down than we are able to work with? Wouldn't it get to the point where they would just have to say "Unplug the servers or else?" I am the first to admit I don't know much about the stack here, I

It would only take a small minority of hackers to actually build it though. SOPA backers would probably put up the, upper limit, 100 million it would take to pay 10 brillant but selfish engineers to build the thing.

I saw this, read it, identified with it since I don't have a Facebook or twitter, and wanted to share it with others. Paradox: By the logic of the article, does that mean I have committed the cardinal sin the article was condemning? I know

I think that would need too much hype for it to actually work. The easier solution is just to go out and meet people in real life. Could be a fun weekend project though.

Thanks! And it's not even about having brilliant conversations. I've noticed that over half my communications with people are through electronic text most days. It's pretty depressing actually and I've been trying to brainstorm ways to fix

If you want somebody to talk to this holiday season, about anything at all, I extend an invitation to talk over Skype. Although I can't say for sure yet, but you are probably a really cool person if you are reading hacker news. If you find

Maybe. I think there is much to be said for being able to just walk down the hall with your laptop and debug everything in person with someone who knows what they are doing. I didn't know much before that internship about software developme

Why not use that account instead to post this? If you were popular, then people would be more likely to contact you. My first inclination is to wonder if you are hiding something?

Exception: always bring the interns in house. I've heard the talent crunch is bad, but I cannot imagine a remote internship being beneficial at all. I tried working a remote internship once and it was awful. I didn't get anything done, had

If this happened in one of my classes I would walk out. I like the data oriented approach to learning, but the whole tone seems to be that education flows from professors to students. "It's the professors fault that students aren't learning

Maybe try to make it happen yourself first. Technical people will probably think most of what you are trying to do is easy: "That's just wordpress with some ecommerce plugins and a customized wootheme." If you can get to the point where tec
