It's a very important question, but I wonder how accurate and widespread this picture of West Africans is. Practically, I am concerned that there aren't enough treatment/care resources for those that want them.

Is it actually meaningful to compare NASA with SpaceX? My understanding is that SpaceX's primary—if not only—client is NASA. If I've got this right, doesn't it mean that the money still comes from the Feds and SpaceX is not t

I would really like to see any pictures of Symbolics hardware or screenshots of Genera. I used to work with a guy who wrote CAD software on these in the 80s and he made it sound really cool.

With a name like "National Security Agency," you'd think that filing bugs would be part their official duties in securing the nation.

Yeah that was interesting. I'm sort of curious what they were printed out of (plastic?) and how that's cheaper or better than just machining wood, or even machining a blank and rounding out the handle with and hand tools.

Yeah, the mistake of referring to Africa as a single nation is unfortunately common in the U.S., made by everyone from from leading Republican politicians to, more sadly, Clayton Kershaw. [1] http://www.africaisacontinent.com&#x2

Exactly. If your software is only going to be used more than once, then any notion of "finished" is illusory and often toxic.

I just stumbled upon this after stumbling upon Shin Dong-hyuk to Dennis Rodman, where he recaps his unimaginable life born into slavery in Camp 14 before escaping at 2005. He's the first person to escape a prison camp of this kind. His

It's crazy to think through the ramifications of fusion power. A Sahara irrigated with desalinated water. Mining trash to get the metals out. Sequestering CO2. Turning the entire globe into a climate-controlled mall.

Similarly, `function(err, result)` is nice because HTTP handlers often use `function(req, res)`, where the res is a response object. Fumbling over this kind of thing while nesting async calls in HTTP handlers is a minor annoyance.
