I just want to call out that there is a lot of blame put on firebase here in the comments but I think that's just people parroting stuff they don't actually know about (I don't use firebase, I have tried it out in the past th

It's really not hard to build this safely in firebase, this could've been authored the same way in node too. I think whoever authored this either majorly cut corners or just isn't experienced enough to understand how to write

I will say as someone with a limited visual field, toasts are very frustrating as they're almost always out of my field of view. Please keep indicators/notifications close to the thing that caused it.

I'm sure folks here could list dozens of times they have helped, but also defeatism in general isn't a useful tool for solving problems.

This is gatekeeping for no good reason. You can learn on the job why box scores have an order, that's like a 2 minute discussion. And at the end of the day it doesn't matter as long as they follow the design provided. And like oth

I wear hearing aids and could always hear them as I passed near them. Obviously not the same as real sound as it was just interfering or something.

I am visually impaired so take this with a grain of salt but HN is so much better to read at 200% for me. Every time it reverts back to 100% I wonder how people spend so much time reading that small text.

AFAIK this is a webview that Christian is hijacking certain navigation events on. So the app itself isn't really native/probably wouldn't support this feature.

The theming definitely works, there must be an issue in the way you set it up.

Hmm, in chrome and edge the tab just crashes for me on the landing page when my cursor goes over the editor. `RESULT_CODE_KILLED_BAD_MESSAGE` is the only error I can find, I know that's probably not very useful though.

Solito seems to let you share component code, but I assume that it does not share data fetching code? It doesn't do SSR for the native app? And in expo you'd be expected to `fetch` or otherwise get the data yourself (compared to n

I was hoping to test the water straight out of my taps, maybe I can find a place to send some samples to. I'm pretty sure at minimum I can ask for the standard tests but I'm unsure if they'll tell me the PFAS levels.

Be careful in this space, keep accessibility in mind when doing things like this. JS is meant for interactivity, don't feel guilty for using it for the right job.
