Many other countries have a police system that works much better than the US but obviously the only possible solutions in the search space are "Americanism" or "Nothing".

Transport encryption isn't something I'd mention when talking about "Encrypted File Storage", I'd assume that to either don't matter or be the default.

I would point out that IPFS provides no encryption out of the box, you're just layering this below something that encrypts that could equally well work on Dropbox. Filecoin atleast has a integrated payment structure but modern storage

You'd have to find someone to permanently pin the data (nobody will be interested in random encrypted databoxes without being paid for it). And at that point you're just loosing performance compared to S3 or WebDAV.

Almost every photographer that hasn't specialised into a certain area does passport photos. They usually have a always-ready booth setup in their shop to take those kinds of photos. ID cards/passports are required to have and are

Where I live you have to send the places and waypoints your protest will take before you start one so that emergency services can route around protest and have some units on standby in case things go wrong.

For author and GMing purposes I can recommend https://www.fantasynamegenerators.com/ , which has been a huge help for running my weekly DnD seesions.

Maybe stop hardcoding cryptoalgo's so you have to spend a lot of money to migrate? This is why protocols like TLS support negotiations.

RAID Controllers (Software and Hardware) need to be aware of SMR. The easiest fix is that the controller will not allow you to mix SMR and CMR technologies in a single array. ZFS and friends need to check that too and if there is an SMR dri

Just because there is no reason against using something doesn't mean it's a good idea. They recommend SHA256 and upwards, they see no reason that SHA1 must be removed immediately from some corners of cryptography, those are no con

The german BSI does not recommend SHA1 and NIST only recommends it for 128bit security applications. And knowing if your application is not vulnerable to prefix attacks can be a bit of a challenge, depending on what you do. If you have to a

Well, you don't need to install a compiler for it if your distro ships it (and there is a fully static binary that should just work right about everywhere)

Even then, flash storage that is practical to access (ie, not a milk jug full of microSD cards) isn't as dense as HDDs quite yet.

I think in practicality, HDDs still beat out SSD in storage density in larger clusters simply because the SSD cluster would be obscenely expensive.

The Fediverse is simply a term for all of the instances. It's not entirely fragmented, there is certainly shared hosts between bubbles in the fediverse. Though I don't think this is an issue really; our own universe functions on t

That's simply untrue, speaking as the admin of a smaller instance. There are blocklists but they are entirely up to yourself to implement. I myself only implement rules to completely block far-right instances or "free speech"

I don't think that's entirely true; like ICEs, HDDs still have various niches were they are very valuable. Notably when storage density is the most important factory (data hoarding, backup solutions, etc.) and most of your access

Unlike PGP, this library is interfaced with a FFI interface or you can write your own lib without too much effort. PGP requires understanding it's stdio RPC format. That is the source of some issues related to malicious messages. And o

That shouldn't matter much here, as long as the underlying crypto is fine, baring any very bad exploits in the message pack library, any manipulated message should fail authentication.

I exercized a code path that broke, it's not like unrelated code broke, it was code I was actually using in a commit in the upstream library that changed not much for the end user and then was broken by the compiler fairly soon after.

It's NaCl plus Base62 encoding with a fairly simple framing method, that should be fairly rocksolid as far as crypto goes. Internally it's messagepack with binary data for the internal payload, so that's also pretty good and
