Windows repair likes doing it. I've had it nuke my bootloader a few times when I used to sill dualboot (now full Linux). One time the windows installer confused the encrypted LVM disk with a corrupted NTFS partition (because it had an

The obvious solution is to completely reimplement the AGPL-ed software on your own, as a stub, in case the AGPL-ed software you want to use goes nuclear on you. Surely this will not cost a lot of developer time.

In other countries, people would have come to rescue you, the government would have been able to provide you with housing and enough money to live. Not everyone can work and those people deserve social net to be able to live comfortably.

You don't need to evict all people via DHS. Only enough that the rest has enough fear put in them to do it themselves.

Any good astronomy imaging tool will remove temporary satellite flashes without much effort, provided you take a lot of exposures. If you naively stack them you get this of course.

Well, the standard influence virus that causes the flu isn't that similar, it's from a different family of viruses. The only similar virus that has some medical history is SARS.

Triage tent != Triage. A triage tent is used to sort patients between codes, ie emergencies and non-emergencies when space inside the hospital is unavailable. Actual triage means when the hospital itself rejects patients because they do not

Well, most direct deaths show fairly fast after the patient has died. There are some indirect damages that might kill someone 70 years on but we don't know that yet. The issue isn't how long it takes "for death to show up&quo

Death tolls require some time to go up. If you lift lockdown, lots of people get infects. It takes a few days, maybe a week to show symptoms bad enough to go to a doctor for testing. This is the point in time when cases begin to go up. Imag

With a lockdown you slow down the infection. This has a few goals at the same time. First, you lessen the load of the healthcare system. If a lot of people get sick at the same time, hospitals would be swamped and more people would die beca

If you want to experiment now, I can recommend the TS100 or TS80. The TS100 requires a beefy power brick but it's one of the nicest all-rounder irons one can have for under 100$. The TS80 isn't as beefy in power terms but runs of

I have a T100 with auto-off firmware. I don't have to put it on a stand, literally anywhere on my desk will do. Once I pick it up it'll be at temp before the tip touches the PCB in almost all cases. The great thing about doing it

Get a cloth bag instead of a paper bag and you'll get something that will out life the single-use bag and be more environmentally friendly after using it about 100 times. Doubling CO2 usage is only true if things remain single-use.
