Arch's policy is to minimize patches. I think the linux kernel runs on about 2-3 patches on average per release, most other packages aren't much more either. The policy "minimal patches & close-to-default" is in my e

1) It's hard to hide things in a physical store. There are some tricks but if you want Brand A cereals and the store has them, you can find them in the cereal section. Amazon has in my experience, sometimes hidden product brands entire

My Laserprinter is connected via USB to my NAS. CUPS offers all the shenanigans, so it's autodetected by iDevices, Android, Windows and Mac on the network. Linux users usually figure it out within 30 minutes.

You don't have to aim it at a point, a line is good enough. A cyclotron should be sufficient to generate a disk-shape of radiation, which could be aimed downwards, via Bremsstrahlung. You could aim that just outside feeding places so t

Flourine is electronegative enough to be able to burn with asbestos, but not willingly, it needs a lot of encouragement to do so. It'll happily burn spent coal or other oxygen burn byproducts. For asbestos you'll need some chlorin

Irradiating the entire specimen is not so different if you also irradiate the part of them that produces the seed. You're just irradiating an earlier stage of reproduction, the result is unlikely to be different. Seeds have the advanta

NPT does that if your default firewall rule is "allow all incoming". Atleast on my router, if I setup NPT it also automatically creates a firewall rule to drop all non-relevant traffic unless I allow it. I feel like I should point

How would you check millions of insects for actually being sterile? Considering it cost 100M$, I assume they established a non-lethal dose of radiation and then just blasted the insects. Could easily be that one develops beneficial mutation

Why would Microsoft stand up to a DMCA takedown from any organization to a random github repo that they can't immediately tell is being wrongly taken down? Unless you pay GitHub the legal fees, no organization would lift a finger.
