I don't really know how successful a tactic like this would be, long term. It's certainly "unique" and fun, but (to paraphrase a presentation I listened to a while back), their greatest enemy is the "back button" anyway, and I think they're

Well, this is certainly not my blog, and I'm not involved with Gladinet at all; but yes, it does seem like a bit of blog spam in retrospect (this article was actually emailed to me, and I didn't follow through on who the author was). The re

This isn't really all that surprising :) It means that almost exactly one in three people visit facebook at least once a month, while the other 2/3 visit less often, but probably still within whatever metric they use to measure "active" (of

Every so often an article crops up discussing Yahoo's popularity, and I am again and again amazed at the fact that so many people still visit Yahoo in general. I haven't used their portal since late 1999, and I don't know many other people

I've done presentations and speeches as short as 30 seconds, and as long as 75 minutes, and in both cases, I always memorize and rehearse the talk, but I never memorize a script. This is generally a simple concept, and I think a lot of pu

Interestingly (and probably somewhat obviously), this lines up very well with Moore's Crossing the Chasm. The company in the example assumed that their innovators (the friends/family and references of board members) would be representative

We've seen a similar trend in graduate enrollment in Toronto. Although I don't have an article to link to, last year the University extended graduate enrollment 3 times (from a January 6th deadline, to a May deadline) in an effort to attr

13 years ago :) Keep in mind, I'm not saying that the High School education system in Israel isn't going to hell and back. It very well may be. The purpose of my post was to discuss Canadian/North American education...My comment on Israel w

I haven't gone through their high school education system, but I studied with plenty of kids who went through it. I don't know if they went to tutors to be honest, since it never came up, but many of those who came to us in grade 10 were mu

I have a younger sister who is currently going through the High School system in Canada, and as the son of a Teacher and an Engineer (both of Russian upbringing), education is a constant hot topic at family gatherings. While we are not exp

Yes, but they charge at $1.50/gig up to a maximum of $25 above those 95gb. My neighbours upstairs regularly pull >500gb in a month, pay the extra $25/mo, and move on with their lives. Not a great solution, but better than being cut off

My macbook goes absolutely nuts when I watch even a 2 minute flash video -- CPU usage spikes to close to 100% as the fans try to compensate by ramping up to a speed that makes watching the presentation without headphones unbearable. Adobe d

Thanks for the link. This actually makes quite a bit of sense both in the way google has done business in the past -- with Chrome and even the Google Chat server, and of course from an adoption point of view.

While I do agree that it certainly helps when demand is higher than supply in terms of customer interest, this is certainly not the main reason for the Google Wave invite/nomination system. I just got my invite today, and having used it ext

To be honest, I am not at all surprised at the frustration most people are seeing with the Google Wave invite system. What I am surprised, is that so many people did not seem to expect it. What people are forgetting is that this system is a
