And now I have to support (and debug) two languages only because on a single browser one can perform slightly better, while the rest of the resources and frameworks for web clients are all written in javascript. No thanks

If you write something in another language (and it is not a right thing to do in a international board that obviously use English as only language) at least translate it to make others understand.

In reality (microsoft) Azure is becoming one of the most profitable "division" of microsoft itself, increasing revenues quarter over quarter (and also, they announced around 20% of their vms are running linux)

You are in your twenties and have still to start working, why would you chose a platform over another ( even right now )? I would learn both and move on jobs to make almost equal experience over them. Else you will end using the only tools

There are already strong rumors that multiple desktops will be a feature in the new windows9. In an interview on the /build/ 2014 some MS devs said that now that they have made a dumb-ui for the common consumer they can finally i

I think he means that the licensing of MS is so much fucked up and confusionary ( It is basically the only thing I really hate of MS) that in the end even trying to do your best to have a perfect coverage, you end up with something wrong.

The problem is that it will be really hard to convince managers to run Mono/linux against .Net/wserver when all resources and external support is for and based on the second one

I am sorry, but what I meant was "I thought that in any developed country the overtime work was obviously paid" not that "oh I think you were in EU zone". Basically for me is very hard to understand why I should work for

Can't you just signal to authorities or unions that you were dismissed for that reason (that is not a "good enough" reason on my state) and basically fuck up the entire company considering that that guidelines document would

As a EU citizen I hoped to see a /s under your post. I do not want to be rude but here it is obvious that if you work overtime you must be compensated and also very well (usually 1,5-2 times more than regular hours). And not only it,

I know that one of the reasons is that here is very frequent that the police find some tiny electronic systems (skimmers/false_keyboard + minicams) glued or stuck on a lot of atm and pos with the specific purpose of cloning your cards

It depends. In my zone more and more cards are made without stripe for security reasons ( having it make them a lot easier to clone )

Usually the strong defenders of emacs tell you that you must use c-n c-p c-b c-f to move because those are better and you will adapt in a short time. Then the strongest defenders of emacs tell you that you must use whatever you want because

Personally on my wp I ever used the youtube site and it works perfectly. I can also have the controls of the streaming with the lockscreen on ( I usually hear some music video from my phone while going to work )

In reality, if I remember well, Google obliged Microsoft to delete their youtube app because they were not using the html5 public api they give to all devs ( and not respecting the tos the second time). Microsoft answered that at the moment

I am surprised that others concurrents let Google buy it considering it was the only "serious alternative" to some functionalities of youtube. The monopoly of Google on video streaming is even stronger now

In that case the title of the article is wrong. Are we talking about have a single kernel on all platform or a single os on all platform?

I just fear that the dimension of the full os once installed will be absurd. Win8 is already 13-15 gb alone... If they try to put on the new windows also all the features needed for phones the situation can become really bad. At that point

I don't think it is about asking to "not use something". It is about asking to pay taxes where you gain money. To have a equal system any vendor should pay in a specific state the part of taxes related to what he sold in that
