I followed this blog for a long time. The whole journey of creating the Magpie language is fantastic. Most of what I know as a senior dev comes from trying to really understand his posts.

Can we say that companies such as Palantir are just IBM-wannabes?

This is a very important bit of information. Do you mind to make sure this is reflected in docs?

I’m pretty sure there was one made by a HN member. First result in DDG is this: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/tldr/giepilabiomhl...

So… not understanding the language of the title and asking for clarification is worth a downvote?

Can you please change the title in something more clear for non native speakers? ”killing it” is not a positive statement for foreigners! It looks like they are dismissing their content creation department!.

Very interesting read. My personal highlight is (about the type of security we are moving into): > It's a world where driverless cars are much safer than people-driven cars, until suddenly they're not.

> Any application that can be written as a simple composition of smaller components, will eventually be written as a composition of smaller components, and then custom complex logic will sneak in mutating it into a big ball of mud

The UI is so similar to the ones we had in early 2000s in Game Dev communities. So many memories!

Yeah, TurboLinks is the Rails counterpart. To clarify a little: I personally use SennaJS a lot and React. They are two different things for different goals.

Right and wrong. If that’s all you need to do search for SennaJS or PJAX. What really f/e frameworks and libraries help you build is complex interactive interfaces. If you don’t see their use then means you don’t need them.

Managing both is very difficult, at least until we get pointer events supported ( http://caniuse.com/#feat=pointer )

As I said in another comment, I was developing something incredibly similar many years ago. I really believe it’s the best UI for a calendar. I hope to help you somehow, I opensourced that small thing I built then: https://bitbuc

It’s scroll-jacking to let users without a touchpad to zoom in and out. I expect the mobile/touch version to be way more sensible.

I had that same exact idea years ago but didn’t finished it. Congrats, looks very, very promising.

But you’ll end with more self-documenting code and more clear internal APIs. It’s a fair tradeoff IMHO.

Old (veeeeeeery old) substance dev here. They are not AMD based (have a look here indeed https://github.com/substance/substance/blob/master/browser.j... ) and about jQuery I’m pretty sure you can wrap it

Thank you so much for answering my doubts. I’m Italian, and I’m culturally biased, as someone exposed to me in other answers. May I suggest to rephrase it a little?

Thank you. It still looks strange to me. Amorymeltzer’s addition in his answer here really did a lot IMHO.
