Based on other articles, it appears they didn't hire specialty ransomware consultants for the negotiation but still got a 55% discount. Wonder if they did, if they would have been able to get a better all-in cost.

So you would never invest in a founder who does the rational thing? Believing in your own company doesn't preclude one from believing in other companies as well. Say the founder estimates their startup has an 80% chance of succeeding;

I don't understand the mentality people have when calling Tesla an automaker. Automakers today traditionally outsource a majority of their parts and are just glorified assemblers. Meanwhile tesla has much more vertical integration in t

Does anyone know the newsletter/blog posts that caused these employees to retaliate like this? Obviously no matter what they said this behavior is 100% not acceptable under any circumstances; these 6 employees are definitely in psychop

This is really cool. I had a similar idea a couple of years ago to implement something similar to this using the three finger single tap command on the trackpad that currently brings up dictionary/siri knowledge/wikipedia etc. I s

This is awesome. Would it be possible for you to extend the spx 10 year return line with a greyed out or dotted line from 2007 onwards that shows the running annualized return so far? So for example for 2012 it would show the spx annualized

Fcc photos of the coin pcb here [1] I think that the coils that drive the magstripe are only activated when the buttons to the left or right of the stripes are depressed (e.g. by the process of swiping). Also, I believe coin only transmits

I've heard co-workers using interactivebrokers to do so. I found a blog post about it here http://blog.plsoucy.com/2012/11/best-way-to-convert-usd-to-c... The fees are essentially max($2.50, 0.01%) but there&

Yes! The compiler now runs in a different process from the main IDE. This actually makes a huge difference. Interacting with the editor is now instant, projects compile faster, and the IDE uses less memory. For more details: http://blogs.j

They didn't even need to manipulate the results. The MIT study is extremely flawed. They used aluminum foil instead of tin foil. These metals aren't even in the same group or period on the periodic table. Keep wearing those tin foil hats!

If what you're suggesting is that coins can only sit in one address for a limited amount of time, then that would not do anything because people would just create new addresses to send the coins to.

I'm a CMU CS minor who has gone through most of CMU's "base" CS courses (211, 212, 213, 251). The majority of these courses were taught with either C or Java, so I'd rate my abilities in C and Java as probably a 7/10. When taking 212, which

The argument about RAM is just plain wrong. It only takes 12 megabytes 2048 * 1536 * (32 bits per pixel) = 12 megabytes to store the display. 24 megabytes if it needs to double-buffer.

Airlines usually offer 200-300 dollars for someone to take a different flight. In this case, instead of losing 200-300 dollars because of the overbook, they lose only 120 (since that is the minimum someone has bid for the seat)

In tetris, only the l and the o pieces spawn exactly in the center. All the other pieces spawn slightly to the left. Therefore, on average, you need to make slightly less moves if you stack on the left side than if you stack right.
