I don't think that's true at all? I certainly don't have ideas for infinite stories in my mind. And I don't read a book to discover a good idea that I already had.

I understand the argument in the following way: - Fictional worlds have are shallow compared to reality. They have to be, because an author or a collective of authors can never get to a depth comparable to reality. - The only world with a d

The parent didn't dismiss just this story. They seem to have pre-emptively dismissed the actual discovery of life on Mars if it were to ever happen, because it would be just the little things anyway…

This is the correct pattern. It's usually a good idea to also add a tooltip that clarifies the action (although that doesn't help on mobile).

Who the hell on this forum isn't interested in the little things when the little things refer to alien life?!

I believe these rules should be changed rarely, consciously and very carefully. Perhaps it would be worth it for them to explain their thought process behind revising them in some developer session. Meanwhile, every person working on design

That's a matter of preference. I like the sharper iPhone forms more (4, 5, the first SE, 12 and onwards). I also love the sharp look of Mini and iMacs (especially the 2007 - 2015 ones).

I have tried it and I don't know what are you talking about. VR + treadmill is better than VR + stepping in place. And VR + stepping in place is better than VR + moving with a joystick. The fact that this invention perhaps doesn't

If they honestly do exactly that, then it's not bad at all. But a lot of rules could be hidden under safety reasons.

It is a bit strange and I don't understand how they mean it. What are "EU apps"? What's the motivation for this rule? One can "just" create a new company, no?

It says "First annual install, the app may be installed any number of times by the same account for the next 12 months with no additional charge." Apple claims over 99% of developers would pay less than on the old plan.

You can stay on the current terms and distribute through the App Store. Or you can create a nonprofit and the fees are supposed to be waived.

> So this is essentially Apple making the alternative so unappealing that no-one will switch and status quo is preserved. The new terms are very appealing to the vast majority of developers. Most of us don't have 1M+ installs a year

People who disagree won't like your comment, but it is a legitimate view. I'm all for side loading, but at the same time I would like Apple to have enough drag to force the big players (e.g. Meta) to continue to publish on the App

Making marketing notifications a separate permission doesn't really nerf the casino games much. And I believe the "we" refers to far more people than you describe. It's ultimately a question of UX.

Where has it gone south? Warcraft, Starcraft, Diablo, WoW, Overwatch, and perhaps even Hearthstone were all such great games at some point. It seemed like Blizzard knew how to make games that were both delightful and profitable.

Yeah, Apple should properly write/enforce App Store rules on this. Make marketing notification a separate permission if necessary and be strict about it. After all, topics like this are why we succumb to their curation and App Store mo
