Upgrade pricing leads to feature bloat. Sure you could stop at say office 2003 features and then only update it (for free) when you need to fix bugs and compatibility issues with new systems. But that's still work! So your only chance

Is anyone... yes, of course. React, Lit, angular, all use classes to define elements (yes you can use functions for a subset of components, but not all)

Hm. But as stated this is mostly a US thing because of critical mass. Most people I know already use at least two or three services so honestly they don’t really care what service you are on. I remember that in uni people who didn’t have me

A year back or so there were articles claiming that apple has stopped all development of content rich games, aiming at quick addictive ones instead. They released studios making the former from contracts. https://www.bloomberg.co

What does it mean to "miss out on crypto"? It's supposed to be a currency right? One hasn't "missed out on dollar" because they weren't alive in the 50's. This is one of the problems crypto has to sol

macOS still has window shadows and they are still the same size (by eyeballing them). The only difference is that in dark mode the shadows are of course less visible because the contents of windows are darker.

At least for surge pricing there is argument that you need to manage scarcity somehow. If everybody wants a ride because it’s raining, you can either rise prices or not, and make it a lottery. The latter is more fair, but the former has hig

I always loved the look of notebooks in pen and paper ads. Neat text here, nice drawing there… however, does anybody actually take notes like this? My notes always look like trash, and back in school it was the same for everyone. It almost

No, but I do use an external trackpad left of my keyboard. Mainly for drawing programs and sometimes for scrolling. Otherwise I try to (but often fail) to use keyboard shortcuts as much as possible.

It seems to me that these supposedly idle games require some sort of input at any stage. When I hear idle game, I think about irc idle rpgs where you are actually penalized for doing anything.

Same. I stopped reading articles and posts about it because they were all just a pile of whining, while I was truly enjoying the game. I now had the same with MTGA. Turns out discussion about games seems to always turn into complaining.

It would be nice if the default background color was a choice rather than a price point. Personally I like reading in dimly lit rooms or subway rather than outside, so a brighter “paper” is an advantage. But I definitely understand that for
