Yeah I got 7284 as well on the first try. My second session got 7384.

Pretty sure the 2s delay is designed to slow down brute-forcing it.

How large are a couple of 1080p PNG screenshots? 0.5MiB?

I feel like even the "indefinite" option would be about as indefinite as setting your default browser on Windows

I've noticed that Codex usually uses the native editing tools and shows me a diff, but sometimes it just sidesteps that and does a cat > file << EOF, so I need to rely on Git diffs to tell what it did.

I Googled screenshots of "wget gui" and "handbrake software", both are GUI programs with a whole lot of dropdowns, checkboxes, etc. Maybe that's the meaning of the parent comment?

I wonder, if Asahi get's ported to this, would that potentially open the door for Asahi on an A18 powered iPhone? Or are those secure-booted too hard?

If you know what to look for, yes. But the average person doesn't browse Hacker News and watch tech YT videos in their free time and has likely not even heard of them.

Unfortunately, the Meta glasses look much more normal, and a person who isn't actively looking for them (and especially one who is unaware of them) isn't likely to notice them.

So if I run a Wi-Fi Monitor Mode pcap and Wireshark automatically renders MACs as the company they belong to, that's not legal now?

Naturally they'll always have a big expensive SKU, but the existence of a Threadripper doesn't automatically obsolete the Ryzen 3

It's likely possible to extract model weights from the chip's design, but you'd need tooling at the level of an Intel R&D lab, not something any hobbyist could afford. I doubt anyone would have the skills, wallet, and too

I wouldn't call that size a small power bank. That chip is in the same ballpark as gaming GPUs, and based on the VRMs in the picture it probably draws about as much power. But as you said, the next generations are very likely to shrink

    by yonatan8070 8mo ago

Maybe they're numbering the models based on internal architecture/codebase revisions and Sonnet 4.6 was trained using the 4.6 tooling, which didn't change enough to warrant 5?

I do wonder why Apple chooses not to lock down the Mac to just Mac OS like all their other hardware? I'm sure the sales from people who intend to run something other than MacOS look like a floating-point error on the scales Apple opera

I've found that doing this on laptops is often more problematic, the OS itself will usually boot fine, but you might have issues with drivers for supporting hardware like the GPU, audio, etc.

I believe it relies on some virtualization extensions Google's CPUs have, which most phone SoCs don't support.
