Totally agree. Not sure if that's the case across the board with VC's but it does make sense.

I don't like these "where's the innovation" posts, too negative. There's lots of exciting software being built. I will however admit that, in general, the Glass Project was the most exciting thing I've seen in a while. So maybe this is real

The big consumer electronics companies should be really scared right now. Hardware startups are coming. Wouldn't be surprised if some hardware incubators start popping up too

Totally agree, we should all start charging. As a user, I've become ridiculously cheap. And it's not the price, it's how the ecosystem has evolved. I'm used to free apps now. We need to get people to be used to paying for apps. Not easy tho

One phrase comes to mind after reading this: "so what." It's not about what the terms say, it's about how they're enforced. I don't see any users getting sued, just a bunch of stories on how you could potentially get sued.

This reminds me of that Bill Nguyen article, where he revealed he had never even used Facebook until recently, claiming he doesn't keep up with tech. If you're a startup founder, you can't afford to be uninformed about your competition and

Nobody seems to be talking about the obvious issue here: they are essentially asking us to trust them again when they tell us they have deleted everyone's contact info from their servers. "We fucked up. But we fixed it, trust us." Am I the

Exactly what I was thinking when I read this. If their users had been parents 40+, I'm willing to bet they'd have a slightly different reaction.

Totally understand your confusion. Best advice I heard when I was learning about startups: forget a business plan and come up with a business model... you can also just call your business a company, that's what I prefer

Lots of possibilities, but if Google isn't behind this then they should have been close enough to the local biz communities to have heard of it and stopped it

The MVP is not dead. Crappy MVP's are dead. Totally agree with @avand, it's about scope vs. quality. Quality is where the "V" comes in. But I also agree with the author, in that private beta is the way to go if you are launching an MVP. Tha

I've heard from several current Google employees that the so-called "20% time" is known in the office as "120% time". Meaning you don't get time to work on it, you simply work on something on top of what you already do. Which actually defea

Great post. The only thing I disagree with is your distaste for the designer fund. I think helping designers build startups is a good thing. And it's also important to note the difference between visual design (UI) and UX. You can't create

Arrington's response > this post. He may or may not be wrong for saying he bends over backwards for black entrepreneurs. You're saying he's wrong because of one instance, I'm sure he can point out times he has lived up to that statement

The man is making people's dreams come true and taking chances on young and hungry entrepreneurs, legally. Some of you make it sound as if he's a murderer. Leave him alone and let him and all the companies he's funding be great.
