As long as it’s aimed at people with Chinese citizenship and not anyone that looks remotely Chinese (e.g. Singaporeans, Koreans, etc), I’m not too concerned. They do have laws that force us to look more closely without devolving into pure r

The only thing keeping me on an iPhone is that mine hasn’t broken yet and I dislike waste. I got my current phone from a relative that was going to throw it away. Not being able to side load apps & use for development means I pretty muc

Tangentially related: Is it currently possible to have interop between Go and Rust? I remember seeing someone achieving it with Zig in the middle but can’t for the sake of me find it. Have some legacy Rust code (what??) that I’m hoping to s

I actually like that. I know they aren’t the “best” responses but as defaults, I would be more suspicious if it gave paid tools. I’m tested it and you can just ask for commercial tools if you want

That’s just how things are on Windows. Building just about anything requires Visual Studio (not the UI but the tooling that comes with it. E.g. msbuild and C++ headers) You won’t have to do this on Linux or if you use a pre-built exe

Not a subscriber but enjoyed the video. Nice entertainment if bored. Feels pretty high production value. Don’t understand how it has anything to do being a VPN though

Just an assumption. There are very little reasons for a person to carry out such an attack but it’s still possible

The attacker would probably want to keep the exploit hidden, thus probably restricting themselves to data exfiltration rather than outright obvious attacks. Considering that’s it’s a state actor, perhaps people arrested and dark web sites s

Unless you game, Linux is very good. I’ve been using it for 4 years and it’s much more stable than others make it out to be. You do need to be careful not to mess things up though. Accidentally broke kernel modules yesterday and had to spen

Adding on to that, it might be difficult to differentiate between people from China vs Taiwan/Singapore/etc and since people are generally anonymous online, they can use any name they want

I agree. I don’t follow the time zone of the country I live in as I work remote. Haven’t seen the sun in a while. Probably not healthy.

The name is definitely clever. I do feel like terminology in our field might need to change a bit at some point as to make communication easier with other fields.

I find luck very strange. On one hand, I try to be rational and interpret it as just statistics. On the other, I sometimes get creeped out at seemingly “too good to be true” luck. As in sometimes money just falls from the sky among other se

I agree. Going beyond that, I don’t think it would hurt companies to open source their game if they ever declare bankruptcy or simply not sell the game anymore. Any arguments against doing that?
