I couldn't have put this better myself, it's exactly the first thing I thought once I came on HN and saw this essay. It's just more fuel for the fire, which is a good thing when that's what you want. PG never struck me a

Me too, I would like to move away from needing to depend on things like jquery ui, but let's not forget how we got here. It might eventually get to live up to its promises, but until all browsers are at the same place in terms of compa

I like progress but I think this deserves all the criticism it gets. Okay, so it may be a cleaner way to markup richer controls on a page but it's essentially $('.some-class').controlPlugin({ opt: ... }); (I'm not sayin

It could be the dawn of a new era for Microsoft. The company's stock didn't do anything exciting in the last decade but to Ballmer's credit he did keep the ship afloat.

I guess it comes down to personal preference but I've always thought Firebug beats Elements and Resources in Chrome. It is much faster to filter with tabs than digging through a tree IMO.

Not a bad pay day for a critical bug. Forget the black market, hypothetically speaking I wonder how much an ad agency would have paid for something like this if they can use/abuse it for a week before fb catching on (assuming the agenc

Exactly! In any kind of support role the number one pattern you observe is that there is always a lack of information. Maybe they are flooded to the point where they really cannot respond to these reports, but from what I've seen over

I like the way the Stripe documentation is done. I've seen other tools/libs use a similar format but I'm not sure what the underlying doc generator is.
