While knowing your MBTI type can be useful in some aspects, it certainly does not help with the issues OP is describing. Excercise is probably the right answer. Source: chronic procrastinator who has been studying MBTI for years.

See also Linux Torvalds' opinion on O_DIRECT: The thing that has always disturbed me about O_DIRECT is that the whole interface is just stupid, and was probably designed by a deranged monkey on some serious mind-controlling substances

The high-end Thinkpads are generally safe choices. I've been really happy with my Broadwell X250, although there were similar kernel issues when it was flunking new. Still does ~20 hours with extended battery after more than a year of

I sometimes "curl -I" first to check what it redirects to before clicking. Would love a mobile app that registered as the default app for various URL shorteners and did the same.

Other giveaways: * "more or less 1535 customers" * ansible would fail if variables are unset (though they could be empty) * no mention of --no-preserve-root * who mounts an off-site backup, instead of pushing with scp/curl&

I really enjoyed "dwb" until the author abandoned it late 2014. Now they seem to have picked up development again(!): http://portix.bitbucket.org/dwb/ It's fully keyboard driven (to the extent possible)

I can't reply to the sister comment for some reason, so I'll piggyback on the parent. I always fill these with awkward or absurd questions/anwers that would be amusing if a human operator ever needs to verify them. E.g. Woul

My story is similar to yours. Spacemacs really is the best of both worlds: the Emacs ecosystem of packages combined with good defaults and without carpal-tunnel inducing keybindings.

I don't find <prefix>-PgUp a lot harder than Shift-PgUp. The tmux buffer also has the benefit that you can search, copy, write to file and more. Oh, and I think tmux' "mouse on" lets you wheel-scroll the buffer, al

It takes 8 hours 20 minutes to write 15TB over 500MBps. Why would you want to stick one of these in a RAID though? ..it would be more like Redundant Array of Prohibitively Expensive Drives. (I'll show myself out)

Minor nitpick: why is the session history larger than the maximum file size? It always annoyed me that HISTTIMEFORMAT is not set by default. Without it, log entries are simply not timestamped at all. The readline tweaks were news to me, tha

How does Quobyte compare to Ceph? Edit: From the product page the main advantage seems to be end-to-end checksums and an adaptive placement engine. Architecture and performance comparisons would be very interesting, though I understand if y

This reminds me of a similar problem observed in a distributed file system. Eventually it was tracked down to a single bad network card. Why do you think it was a kernel issue? Hardware has "bugs" too.
