They sacrifice all the crazy performance optimisations that React has.

What in the world? No it is not. We have to trick our immune systems because we didn't design them. An OS is, obviously, designed by humans. So we shouldn't have to trick it.

Here's a hack you could use to get around the functions not being exported: https://github.com/anbox/anbox-modules/blob/master/binder/de...

Seems like someone did try to get those functions exported, but the maintainer rejected it, saying that no driver should be poking so deep into fd internals. Makes sense. Your use case is kind of niche. https://lore.kernel.org&#x

You're meant to use it with some other mechanism for code reuse, say React components.

Linux isn't just an OS you use because you want to use free software. For a good number of people it's just better than Windows and macOS.

I really don't understand why people are so sensitive to tone when it is not even directed at anyone in particular.

The Wikipedia entry says p stands for print, as in print working directory. The man page implies it stands for pathname, as in pathname of working directory.

This is absolutely backwards. No amount of reference sheets will help you with mathematics if you don't understand something.

You can now buy ready-made USB-C to <barrel-jack of your choosing here> on Taobao for like a few dollars. It's designed and sold as a complete product and just looks like any other dongle/adaptor cable.

Well, they also fulfilled the requirements for the credit (which was to get the raytracing program running bare-metal on their CPU), so if you want to be pedantic about them being in an academic course, then you should honour the original a

I don't see an issue with the tone. Actually, why are people so concerned about tone nowadays? It matters, but this is perfectly fine. I feel like you can't find anything to nitpick about the post, so you pick on the tone instead.

Debian cares a lot more about licensing than Nix. Debian also has far more developers than Nix, I imagine, and processes that have probably existed for longer than GitHub itself.

By this logic, there's no reason to buy Windows laptops over MacBooks, because MacBooks can actually do anything a Windows laptop can. Yup, so I guess that's why Mac market share is a whopping 10-20%.
