Apparently Google does not use geo IP for this tracking. ( At least it did not show any location data for me, even we I briefly turned tracking on on my tablet.) However, what Google knows and what Google shows may two different things.

Assuming that it actually effects a particle at a distance, it is odd. But I simply see it as a oddity of the collapse of the wave function, which is no more surprising than finding just one photon in a double slit experiment even when the

I don't think that I am misrepresenting this, however I should perhaps have made clearer what I mean by classical vs. quantum. So I take the view, that entanglement can be traced back to the smaller than naively expected state space, w

I would call being in both states at once a quantum phenomenon, which has not much to do with entanglement.

Well, what I am saying is, that the state of two entangled photons (with polarization +,-) is s_e= a |+-> + b |-+> and not s_n= a |+-> + b |-+> + c |--> + d |++> as is the case for two arbitrary photons.

Notice that I say 'I shoot' above, so the moment you start to look at correlations, I start to decide into which pockets I shoot. ( For example determined by the results of an EPR experiment.) However, my rant is not so much about

I tried to read the article, but the first paragraph already compelled me to rant. There is nothing 'mysterious' or 'strange' or 'bizarre' about entanglement. Lets look at the classical version, suppose there i

I submitted this post, despite thinking that it is quite a bit too pessimistic. It is a nice list of thinks we should be concerned about at the moment, but I think that all of it is solvable without dead bodies in the streets. Except, perha

Probably, I have next to no idea how many waiters are needed. So I took a number where I am quite certain that I overestimate. So with realistic numbers, the situation looks certainly worse for waiters.

Quick back off the envelope: 100 Tablets ~ $10k Guessing that this is roughly the number of seats a waiter can wait, this leaves a few thousand dollars for an automated delivery system per year. ( I hope something that involves a c

Actually the US had a rather strong worker movement, it just played out quite differently than in Europe. So in the US the unions did quite often manage to get a corporate pension plan, while the European ones did get a government pensions.

You should use the unemployment rate, since the US are several times larger than Germany. Apart from that, I think that German unemployment is compiled by some government office, who use the actual numbers of people who get unemployment ben

Absolutely, I recently looked at Ali Express and nowadays you can even get tablets for < $50. So something like a factor of 10 in 3 years. If this continuous, then tablets will probably become simple impulse buys in another five years. J

When I hear drone warfare, I always wonder what would happen if someone puts on his uniform and guns down a drone operator in a crowded shopping mall. Obviously he distinguished himself as a combatant and engaged in a act of war.
