Why is the university where you put the line? You could as well say every commit coming from Minnesota is radioactive or, why not, from the US. It is unfair to judge a whole university for the behavior of a professor or a department. Althou

My personal favorites are x*y and x⍟y for pow and log, and the *x and ⍟x monadic versions for exp and ln. I always found weird that exponentiation and logarithms were not defined by operators in conventional math notation.

More fossil fuels can be done with enough time, so fossil fuels are infinite too as long as time doesn't cease to exist, right? Sorry, but I don't understand where you want to get. If we take that point of view, then everything is

> There isn't a finite amount of "wealth" in the world. Yes, there is. It is not limited, we can do more of it, but of course it is finite. It is also important that, the more wealth you have, the easier it becomes to make

I am quite sure that if I went to a thread discussing Go or Rust (for example), and I said something along the lines of: "I don't like this, it would be more readable if you did like Forth", I would get downvoted too. And rig

Plan 9 always had great archival utilities. I do not know what they used at those early days, but I guess that at the point rsc recovered it, it was stored in the venti server: https://p9f.org/sys/doc/venti/ve

In my opinion, it's like when an expedition to an 8K is at a few meters of the top of the mountain and it makes the news. They are not there yet, but it can be interesting to follow the last steps, even although it is perfectly possibl

I doubt these numbers are correct. Catalonia has a population of 7.5 million people and the article claims there are between 50000 and 100000 metal scrappers. That means around 1% (of course, since these are ilegal immigrants, they are not

I don't follow. You have been coding for 40 years and you do not understand a[i] *= b[j] at all but you understood the expression I made up?

Who are both of us? The important point is that "everything is a file" is just a short way to say "everything is a file system". Your interface is not a file descriptor to which you read and write, but a whole tree where

It's basically your second option. In Plan 9, everything is a file server that presents a file system interface that speaks the 9P protocol.

The law that has been passed requires that the person who is going to die gives consent twice, with a 15 days difference, and that a medical comission approves the decision. It has nothing to do with someone else deciding for you.
