I don't know if this was the case "back when", but nowadays the pro version does not have detachable cables. The difference is that the cable is coiled (and I think a bit longer) and some parts (that do not affect the sound s

There is a good supply of Chinese phones that include a headphone jack. If the iPhone is a product you don't like, just buy another phone. It will be cheaper and will do the same and probably more. It may take a while to get used to a

This is the main reason I prefer CLI programs: I can have several sessions inside dvtm running in abduco and suspend/restore sessions at any time. I'd love to see what you propose, but I don't think there is anything remotely

This MIT professor looks like a very intelligent guy, and I agree with what he says, but the article shows that the reporter did not understand some things. Plasticity theory is presented as an alternative to the finite element method, but

I will give you an example (from my recent work) where actually knowing what the components mean was useful. I had to calculate misorientations between many pairs of orientations. If I treated quaternions as a whole, I would find their quot

In my opinion, the problem is not the geometric product, but having three products (inner, outer and geometric). I have explained GA using a single product, and I think it is much clearer. Of course, the inner and outer products are also ve

For sure they are an interesting concept, thanks for introducing me to them. I cannot apply them to my work (crystallography) because we are only interested in orientations, but they may come handy at some point.

You always write a similar comment but neither you or the page you link explain what is the advantage, or even the difference, of dual quaternions when compared to normal quaternions. However, the article linked in the site, actually gives

They are both very different, technically, but culturally they are very similar. Both of them are extremely simple and build complex programs from a few fundamental principles. Both of them are disengaged from the more mainstream languages.

Chuck Moore always says he did not invent FORTH, but discovered it. It's fascinating the relationship between Lisp and Forth. I am quite sure there is something about these two old simple languages and the concept of duality in mathema

AFAIU the problem, from a theoretical point of view, is not that you need to pass the self function, but how to define it. In pure lambda calculus, there are no named functions, just lambdas, so you actually need the Y combinator for recurs

I like writing using mathematical notation. I like trying to express as much as possible using as few symbols as possible, and not as much rigour as I should. It's something that I used to do to study and I keep doing it for work now.
