I've had a prodigal son moment with Postgres myself. I found that even for many tasks that seem to favour NoSQL (time series, etc.) you get lot more bang for the buck in terms of performance for the same resource usage with Postgres.

Glad I went with the older non-touchbar model. No complaints with that one. But it does remind me of a dirty trick they pulled on me with a MacBook years ago. The hard drive failed only days before the warranty expiring, and when I took it

Why? I see why it might be a good idea depending on what problem you are trying to solve, but I don't see why anything has to have any references to its children in order to be a tree node.

It's a fraud for sure, but I don't see how it's any more of a fraud than most consumer tech startups these days. It has certainly gone much longer than most of them without imploding yet.

Completely implausible, we're talking about medieval Europeans, not Flintstones era simpletons. The concepts of fortification and putting one rock on top of another were pretty well hashed out by then.
