Oh wait...THAT might be the problem?? I've been having that issue too! I have to cut the cell content, delete the cell, and then paste the cell content back in in order for the row height to appear the same. It never even occurred to m

This looks cool :) Don't want to be a Debbie Downer in a time of crisis but I feel like you could use Google Sheets + IFTTT in order to accomplish much of the same thing. Would be especially useful if you could auto-tie this into groce

Are there security issues with FTP, or do people just not use it enough because HTTP supplants it? I haven't used FTP in a while to download files.

This is pretty cool :) Not sure if author is here, but I had some questions: - How do exceptions work in parallel streaming? How might async complicate things? - What kind of logging / instrumentation is available? Can you use trace? -

I'm not angry, I'm just disappointed. So many students and future programmers use Windows Home (I did as a kid), and Microsoft would throw away the opportunity for them to play around and lock them in. Now I can't imagine usi

No hypervisor support for Windows Home is pretty insane. Ran into this problem with a friend's laptop during a hackathon a year or two ago. Wonder if ripping that out makes QA faster.

I might not have activated my license, but I do have a genuine Microsoft Windows sticker and the laptop serial number. I'll give them a call tomorrow to see what they can do. Thanks so much for sharing!

This isn't Lotus Notes. The nice thing about FOSS is there's a property-based guarantee over software development progress. The moment WSL goes embrace-extend-extinguish (and that's far from guaranteed to happen, given Micros

Linux doesn't require Windows to operate, but it might work better if it's packaged in Windows. The big question mark for me is drivers. Having great drivers to take advantage of hardware across a multitude of different platforms

People generally don't say inflammatory things because they're inherently evil. They're scared, or mad, or have things going on in their life. Arguing online won't change that. Conversely, fixing those things may make tr

That's why I left Quora. I'm a really gullible person, and I was going to respond to somebody who posted something inflammatory, then I realized I had the option to just walk away. So I did. I remember something similar about comp

This makes sense and sounds like an empathetic approach. Even if it wouldn't be an adjustment to remote-first teams, it should be assumed this is an adjustment to many others, and that new problems will be uncovered especially for crit

I've seen forecasts that this may last a few months, or until a vaccine is created. We need to expand our options beyond death or economic collapse. Not only that, but this almost certainly isn't the last pandemic we'll see,
