I'm sure you would do fine based on your experience and boyishly good looks.

From my point of view, they or someone inside clearly thought I was "good", and I obviously passed the minimum clearance test from HR. Since I didn't even get a single technical interview, they could not have developed their opinion on my a

I think his point was that he acted in good faith -- with the expectation that Google would reciprocate -- and was essentially let down without courtesy. Even a simple "sorry, we're unable to interview you, our apologies for asking you to g

My 2 cents: I was contacted by a recruiter, unsolicited through a referral, and asked if I was interested in interviewing. At the time, I already had an offer from one of the other big companies, which I was upfront about. The recruiter sai

What are those initial costs? Say I have the knowledge or ability to acquire it, how would I actually go about connecting myself to the great stock feed via (e.g.) Python?

Loaded question asking for examples of "unnoticeable" gender targeting. And lots of products are gender targeted, but that facet isn't generally the first to stick out -- ads for tampons, mens vs womens shaving razors, birth control and pro

The monitoring processes makes sure that each instance can talk to every other instance (firewalls, etc.). That definitely doesn't belong in a distributed database protocol.

Interesting, most photographers I know keep the original RAW file from their cameras and work on copies for processing, storing the source as raw material for future projects. Instagram (and the like) forces your hand in the production of a

Eureqa doesn't help in this regard. As the OP said, you will eventually find a giant model that is a brilliant fit for the data. What you need is some notion of regularization. To answer your comment, it doesn't deal with overfitting.

Not necessary -- someone could spoof their MAC to match mine. IMO, this is more likely when there is already malicious intent, and it's almost trivial to do.

MAC addresses can be easily spoofed. For example, on some ethernet cards: sudo ifconfig eth0 hw ether 00:12:34:56:78:9A will change your hardware address.

Nope, it was by Bell and Koren. This one is related, but not the one I originally mentioned: http://ieeexplore.ieee.org/xpl/freeabs_all.jsp?arnumber=5197... I was at the talk but can't for the life of me remember the title, sorry.

The backpropagation neural network itself is a variation of many nonlinear, additive statistical models. The field emerged as an independent entity largely because it had "cool" neurological connotations and was largely ignored by statistic
