Thunderbird infamously places the local copy of IMAP mails (i.e. Effectively a cache) into Appdata\Roaming. It's the single largest directory I have there. Everything else is quite reasonable in size.

We've received such an email on 2019-01-29, warning us that some parts of the API may fail as early as 2019-02-15 or 2019-01-28 . IOW, breakage may have begun before the notification. Fun.

Well, it is the same XAML, it just uses different controls from a different namespace. At its heart XAML is just a way of encoding object graphs in XML and can work with pretty much anything that has a default ctor and properties. As far

It's been part of F# since 2007 and C# since 2013, so the feature was probably known at design time of the language. However, language design is always a complicated dance of trade-offs, so there's never a way to initially account

It cannot, really. It can only shadow the old declaration (and isn't even necessary). This means if you have Derived : Base with such a shadowed member, then code from the library that uses a Base cannot call your shadowing member. You

How do you know it's not been done for a good reason? Designing classes for extensibility is not easy. Furthermore, you can make classes extensible later on, but you can't do the reverse without breaking the API.

Anders Hejlsberg, the lead architect behind TypeScript has created C# and J++ at Microsoft, and Delphi and Turbo Pascal before. It's safe to say he has some experience in designing languages.

No idea about the Z80, but in uni we had to write assembler for a C167 which was a fun architecture and registers basically didn't exist. They were just mappings to memory in a given location. Granted, a few things only worked on regis

Doesn't the Language Server only cover writing code with things like auto-completion, documentation lookup and refactoring? Compiling doesn't need editor support beyond running arbitrary programs and debugging uses a different pro

I think C# has only ever added contextual keywords after its initial release and if I remember correctly there was only one breaking change for semantics of source code, which I find impressive. I also didn't get the impression (from w

Honestly, it would also be quite weird for a font these days to not have the full set of common-use Latin, Greek, and Cyrillic. So I'd assume a simple mistake here instead of forgotten important glyphs.
