I think this is this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reinforced_carbon%E2%80%93carb... which is carbon-fiber in graphite, apparently, so the name is apt in that it's a composite of two different forms of carbon wit

One reason for that is that other people may have different aliases set up, so you cannot count on your aliases working everywhere. Yes, that also means the default aliases, which may (although very rarely) change from version to version. F

There are aliases for parameters, `-ea` for `-ErrorAction` comes to mind. But those are defined by cmdlets, not the user. However, you can always shorten parameter names as long as they remain unambiguous with other parameters, so Get

What tends to die aren't so much the LEDs, but the power supply. And those seem to be very heat-sensitive. At home many LED lamps die as well, presumably because our lamps are somewhat flat on the ceiling and enclosed, which gives the

For a long time I've had my full name as user name on my machine, which meant that my user profile path contains both a space (evil) and a non-ASCII character (even more evil, although it's in Latin 1 at least). A lot of things br

It doesn't scale that well, as you need ctor parameters for every property, so API additions may also be breaking changes.

That being said, C# 5 code can be retrofitted with most new features simply by listening to the IDE which suggests refactorings to make use of them.

Photoshop has had a lens blur filter for ages (I think at least back to v6), the trouble usually is to get a useful depth map so it can work properly.

You can do it in one byte in HQ9+ already. No need to invent a language that's just a feature-constrained subset of an existing one ;-)

Force-directed layout has no guarantees that a planar graph will be drawn planar. It often comes out that way, given how the algorithm works, but not always. Especially nodes that are "trapped" between others may have trouble &quo

I'd imagine many people just don't know or don't care what plane they fly on. The number of enthusiasts who want to fly (or not fly) on a particular plane model isn't that large.

For that flight the engines are even too powerful for the ascent (it wasn't fully fueled, I think) and as soon as they couldn't throttle any lower, an engine was turned off instead.

UCS-2 uses a fixed number of (16-bit) code units to represent a Unicode scalar value (code point). Of course, to represent a grapheme cluster, more than one code point may be needed, but that's true of Unicode in general.

It has been pretty slow in v2 and v3, but these days, yeah, both 5.1 and 7 are fine. It's a shell and scripting language after all.

You can tell the designer how a particular type has to be created if it doesn't have a parameterless ctor, but yeah, it's generally easier to do it that way.

For styling purposes, yes, CSS allows a lot and things like currentColor enable you to at least have colors and styling dynamic when instancing symbols. But things like parametric shapes don't work without scripting, which is a bummer,

The main drawback for those things is that you cannot parameterize them, which is a bummer if you've created a shape that you might want to vary in ways that a transform cannot easily do.
