The point for the hints is probably that the browser doesn't need to fetch the 2000×2000 favicon if it only needs something in 16×16 to render in the tab bar.

You can't select text from an SVG embedded as an image. Twitter is unlikely to include a multi-MiB SVG directly in the DOM for your copying convenience.

I guess the flipped T-shirt is just for showing off (and nerd-sniping). It would work just as well if the T-shirt didn't have an image on it (negating the need for printing a custom T-shirt).

Tübingen is also, due to its topography, not really suited for too many cars in the city. Little space, river, hills, old and narrow streets. There's a lot of work being done to make it more friendly to cyclists and expanding public tr

> Even the Windows calculator screws this up: it only accepts either . or , as input instead of both. It does, however, always accept the . key on the numeric keypad, so many users won't really notice the discrepancy.

I guess in a typical phone the display is basically a unit that is comprised of the glass, the actual display, and the digitizer sandwiched and glued together; that makes it more than a single component already. And the price difference bet

They shouldn't really matter, except for file size. They won't magically use different SVG markup. All Plain SVG does is strip away Inkscape's XML namespaces and custom attributes/elements. There's a fair number of

That's why Ctrl+Alt hotkeys should be avoided completely. Someone hasn't told Jetbrains, though, and as a user of US International I run into a fair number of weird issues due to that.

Even 30 km/h is far from silent. Especially around intersections and traffic lights. And when you have trucks or buses accelerating it almost doesn't matter that a typical small car doesn't make that much noise at that speed

That's actually a nice idea in forcing even the default language to be handled by the same workflows, processes, and tools as the other languages. I've found that in a lot of those cases there simply is lots of context missing fro

The DIY is apparently for people embedding V8, so the usual JS developer probably gains little from that list, anyway.

There's various ways how to do those in fonts. I think Apple uses bitmaps. Microsoft uses several overlaid glyphs in different colors. And there's also a way of embedding SVG as glyphs in fonts.

That's what's also shown in the screenshot, so I'm pretty sure that's what they're referring to and the feature has always been there, indeed.

Considering we're close to C# 10 by now, it's ... a few more versions ;-) Hard to blame Unity here, though. They have written their own compiler backend that converts CIL to C++ and that was back in the .NET Framework days when

Might not make much of a difference with precomputed headers, but if you can't or don't use those, that should still provide quite a bit of speed-up. I went through the same exercises back when I did C++, but couldn't use PCH

I once got a bit of a scare in that many of my raw files has weird color patterns in them. Even the backups. Turns out, I had faulty RAM and Lightroom happened to always hit the faulty parts when reading a raw image, apparently.

At least in Germany most electric bicycles are limited to about 25 km/h, which is about what normal cyclists manage on straight roads, anyway. It's definitely not unreasonably fast. There's also the category of electric bicyc

I guess those parts are where Edge cannot use the same services Google uses anyway (since they're not allowed to). And if they have to provide their own TTS anyway, they can just as well improve over Chrome at that point.

For a WPF-like development experience that's also cross-platform, perhaps take a look at Avalonia: http://avaloniaui.net/ . It's not a drop-in replacement, but very, very similar.
