You do need a lot of computational power and sufficient test bed in the long run. You certainly can fo AI research on a dozen computers, but would be far better if someone else handle the infrastructure and you just do the research. It make

It doesn't. Imagine you just want to run some utility written in Python (let's use youtube-dl since it is been on front page lately), why do I need to install Docker to run a simple command? For isolation? No thanks. Virtualenv wa

Laughable? What is laughable about stopping the BS and just get along with one another? These conflicts are so meaningless right now. Japanese killed millions during WW2, and as a Chinese descendant I condemn Japanese government for not ack

I think the threat is not AI, is what computer program is telling us. Even as simple as writing a test, how many times have we found ourselves writing a test that is giving false positive? That's not AI, but we arenmisled because we tr

I will second the website optimization for all audiences in general. When I come across a vendor website and I find I am spammed by "read our whitepapers" popups or stop-right-there page, I usually judt quit, unless I find the pro

To be honest, there aren't that many choices left: Google, Facebook, Microsoft, Amazon, Apple, and Telsa are probably the only one with deep pocket for VR research... There is no real non-profit research (unless you really want to go b

My chime on why MP doesn't work in ME is simply because no one really asked US to come. The never-ending ethnic conflicts cannot be resolved by Marshall Plan. MP worked in WW2 because the entire Europe was buried in ashes, everyone hat

It is one reason, but not the only reason. NK and China both have borders connecting to Russia's border. This was extremely critical during WW2 as Japanese had full control of Korea (i.e. both present day of NK and SK), and Japanese al

This has never been a size problem. China can probably build a human bridge all the way to SF with that population (I am probably exaggerating), but that doesn't mean the Chinese will win. You can tell this from modern warfares (Vietna

This is how media and entertainment already bended to clients. Pull advertisements or sponsorship = lost revenue. A large parent corporation (e.g Verizon) can do this. Whether this is wise to lose coverage is another assessment.
