That’s not true. There are great sources of documentation for anything you use. Scoped down to the specific topic and it doesn’t have to be found in a blog post or stackoverflow answer. Those are the sources that just beat the SEO game.

You should read the manual for the language features and debugging tools you use most. Don’t assume you know everything about Console.log because you use it all the time one way.

Perhaps true. I would extend this to say that RTFM by attaining drips through blog posts that summarizes the M would lead to good competent developers over time, but this exclusive approach would create knowledge gaps (or “secrets”) that wo

Unless your software is extremely specialized, 90% of users will and should probably find an alternative first before going the WINE route.

If you’re trying to remain in a Windows environment then there’s no advantage. If you’re trying leave to a particular OS then it’s best to start using it and migrate other files over time. Otherwise you leave the migration work and the actu

All reasons people complain about requirements for using Windows (telemetry, ads everywhere, software lock-in, etc.). This is an article about skipping Windows 11 and switching to Linux. Not some way to run Linux on Windows.

Terrible argument. People don’t use this when they’re switching from Windows to MacOS or vice versa but it’s a requirement for Linux? Most if not all applications are probably available through WINE layer of some sort.

I’m going to be contrarian here, screw WSL and VM Ubuntu and install Linux with a Windows Virtualbox. Much better and more practical.

What I enjoy most about KDE is the need NOT to install extensions! Do it your way vs Gnome "here's what we think matters".

Awesome to hear you made the leap! I think KDE works wonderful on Pop_OS since Pop is mostly just a few gnome tweaks here and there on top of Ubuntu. FYI I only am trying out Manjaro just because I wanted an Arch experience and for my gamin

Personally I find Gnome environments pretty ugly. I switched to KDE on my Framework and it’s almost night and day that I’m leaving my desktop Gnome install behind for KDE as well.

RDP over HTTP could assist in opening up the list of applications, however I’m not sure what the consumers look like for such a setup.

Your response makes me wonder if poisoning the well is possible by submitting code to Github with multiple languages and coding styles. A single file with a function signature written in Javascript and the body written in Python + Ruby. Eno

I’m not sure if you’re only accessing applications through a browser in this case but if you’re using Remote Desktop then why not Gimp or similar FOSS alternative?

Glad to see these improvements. My previous favorite part of the older React docs was the several times looking up a lifecycle method I was partially familiar with only to see it had been deprecated for a new similar method.

Alot of what you wrote is true for MacOS and Windows and other major operating systems. Linux doesn't want you either.

I agree. I finally upgraded from a Iphone SE to a 12 Mini. The notch is horrible and I’m not sure why people wave it away with “I got used to it”. I’ve had it for months. No idea what lunatic at Apple thought it would be nice for a laptop.

All the expansion bays (4) are already USBC and you don’t need a module for it.

Running Manjaro KDE on mine. Only issue is typical Linux hibernation drains the battery. Otherwise flawless, fingerprint reader even works with KDE once configured.
