Looks like it only does this on sufficiently "small" screens. This is what it looks like on my external display: https://imgur.com/a/DJBiYJ6

Wow, does it really cost 4-5x more to download a 1 GB file from S3 or Google Cloud Storage than it does to store it for a month? That is mind-blowing.

Interesting; I didn't know that was a movie reference. I had usually only seen it used in conjunction with "kill it with fire" (eg when fire wasn't enough). The first recollection I have of it is this reaction gif (which

Has anyone done this yet? I'd be curious to know if their dataset is "cleaned" or not.

Excited to share our new app, BoardBoss, which brings the best features from apps to physical board games. Our core belief is that games are way more fun to play in real life with your friends around a table than with your nose in screen. B

Yes! Absolutely on our road map. We were hoping to get this done at the hackathon actually but it turned out our v1 model wasn’t stable enough to track the game state over time. Hopefully v2 of the model will let us do this. An added bonus

It’s way more fun to play board games in real life than on apps; trying to combine the best of software with the best of physical games.

We’re thinking of doing a kickstarter to fund making it into an actual product if there’s enough interest. But I’d love to chat more about what you’d be interested in building! I’ll follow up with you.

Ooo cool idea! Have you seen Tilt Five? It’s an AR headset that operates off a similar concept. Instead of trying to figure out the passthrough optics they put projectors in the glasses that reflect back at the viewer. https://ww

Thanks! ML tools have definitely come a long way in the past few years! We used CreateML for our first pass which is great for prototyping; you just give it your training data and hit go. Unfortunately it’s not particularly transparent or t

We built ChessBoss at the TechCrunch Disrupt hackathon this week. It didn’t make the top 10 but I thought Hacker News might think it’s pretty cool. There are these really cool smart chessboards that can suggest moves and track your games...

Curious how you feel about GDPR (the EU asserts its authority to bind an American entity with servers in America running a service targeted at American consumers so long as a single EU citizen chooses to visit the site).

Throw one of these into the Apple Watch (or a gamepad) and you have something that works like the Oculus Touch Controller. Put one in your AirPods and you have head tracking. Could be a powerful addition to their future AR hardware.

Essentially. I have a list of use cases I think are possible to tackle now so I’m going to work on building out more single-niche apps in the near term. In doing so I’ll have to build out tools and common code which I hope to eventually rel

The magic comes when combining AR with an app that understands what it’s looking at and how to contextually interact with it. The AR toolkits tell you about the 3D environment but they don’t do anything to tell you about the context. When y

Maybe I haven’t been looking in the right places but I’ve downloaded most of the AR apps and games that have come out for iOS thus far and they’re almost all gimmicky. Simply plopping a 3D model into the room isn’t particularly compelling o

I wonder if anyone ever found/accidentally triggered a buffer overflow in this or another part of googlebot. I imagine these days it’s been incredibly hardened and is additionally sandboxed. But back in the day?
