Disclaimer: I work closely on Cloud Run as an SRE. IF you want, you can still have it by use "Cloud Run for Anthos", and deploy your container to your GKE cluster with the same Knative API. This allows you to have more control on

One serious problem not addressed in Python type checking is that there's no Char type: you cannot type hint a function to only accept an iterable of strings without accidentally accept str itself. The best thing you can do is a Union

This is actually pretty straightforward: pip wheel -w ./wheelhouse -r requirements.txt Then you can modify your script to insert every whl in sys.path. Add wheelhouse directory to version control and you get a repo that can easi

What's the advantage of using poetry compare to vendorize your dependencies and check in the whl files (which can be manylinux binary) into your version management system?

If you have these requirements, why not vendorize all your dependencies?

Have a repo for your code, vendorize every thing, build a binary including Python interpreter using a build system that emphasize on reproducibility (e.g. Bazel). Alternatively you can build a docker image using Bazel (for reproducibility)

For one: with musl you can't reuse anylinux Python packages on PyPI (e.g. lxml) and you'll have to have GCC to build and install those packages.
